The Puffin is a delightful place for a couple to stay. Stylish, warm, comfortable, beautifully equipped and with a spectacular view across Scapa Flow to Hoy in the distance. Caroline and Kevin are the perfect hosts. Most highly recommended.

Orkney is a great destination if tranquillity, scenery, history, wildlife and a warm welcome feature highly on your holiday tick list. And - topping our list - a charming, comfortable, cosy, well-equipped place to stay: this was Puffin Quoy. Caroline and Kevin can be justifiably proud of what they have achieved here. Add to this the option of booking Caroline's...

We stayed in Puffin Quoy - the smaller of the two cottages (there is also a B&B). The cottage is wonderful with the most incredible view across the bay of Houton. Caroline and Kevan have transformed a derelict barn and house into a truly wonderful place to stay. They are so welcoming and really look after their guests. We stayed...

We stayed in the Puffin Quoy cottage, the best feature of which is the stunning floor to ceiling windows looking out over the bay and across to some of the islands. The hosts, Caroline & Kevin, were very friendly and incredibly helpful, offering advice on what to see and where to go across Orkney. On one night we also ordered...

Looking for unexpected, amazing B & B, great hosts, best food on the island, local knowledge, and one of Orkney Islands Calendar Girls (ask), this is your place. The location on the bay, easy access to all of the sites including the World Heritage Neolithic stone sites, this is your place.

“There is one B&B room, and 2 self-catering cottages, therefore the accommodations are quite different. The cottages are generally intended for longer, self-catered stays, but if you're lucky, breakfast and other meals are available at an additional charge.”
