The positive is the food which is really outstanding. If you just want to go for a meal then I would give it 5 stars plus.

Stayed one night on a birding trip to Rutland Water. On a Groupon Offer for dinner, bed & breakfast. Food excellent, rooms stylish, quiet and immaculate and staff extremely helpful. Will definitely be back and recommend unreservedly.

Stayed here for one night (sunday) on a Groupon deal. Arrived mid day after going to the local garden centre in oakham and was shown to a very large en'sweet room. This room was very nice with tea/coffee and some shortbread. Also shower shampoos etc....More
Although we only had a snack and a drink. A warm welcome greeted us. Varied meals offered at different price ranges. Very quaint olde worlde pub. Food lovely. We didn't stay at the hotel. But seemed a lovely location.
