The bar staff where very nice and friendly, and had no problem with us taking the table next to the log fire I had a well cooked middle raw fillet steak, ( please do mix up this comment when a well done fillet steak !!!!) and lovely chips. My wife had the steak and ale pie that was large, and...

Popped in Saturday for a bite to eat and a pint, great range of well kept bitter and even better price, enjoyed a bowl of soup and chips. The friendly staff added to an enjoyable lunch. Credit to the pub in taking on the village shop as well.

After a lovely Autumnal walk around Woodchester Manor popped into the Rose & Crown on the dot of 12 noon to see if they had a spare table for 2 - very helpful & friendly staff put us by the log burner & we ordered the Roast Beef brisket and great value local beer. Great food, service, value and a...

Had another good meal here, pre-ordered food which made it easier when we got there! Food cooked to perfection, lovely friendly staff and chef got everything right! Going back again and again, never disappointed by this pub, real ales top notch and prices very competitive! 2 children in our party and well catered for, fab birthday cake freshly made -...

What's more to say?! Agree with all the positive reviews and I can understand some of the negatives - I've been a customer on and off for years, and of course the pub has its ups and downs, but it's a friendly place, does decent food and, as I've said, currently offers several (two today - sometimes it's 3) excellent...

Had a great meal here yesterday evening. The five of us all had steaks cooked to our particular taste. All steaks and accompanying dishes were delicious. The service was friendly and attentive and in the case of four of us, it was excellent value for money as the brother in law paid. Seriously though, it was good value as the...

Good village pub both for having a quick drink or a typical pub meal. No particular frills or gimmicks this is a straightforward pub offering descent beer, friendly service and good food. A back room also services as the village shop, just the excuse you want to pop into the pub!

We have visited the Rose and Crown many times and are consistently pleased with the friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere and range of food. The helpings are more than filling, the burgers are rustic and the onion rings are absolutely fantastic (although there were only 3 on our most recent visit which was a tad disappointing!). Visiting the Rose and Crown...

As visitors to the area , our local friends were very keen to take us to this restaurant as they had had very good experiences in the past. Since their last visit things had changed in the décor and sadly with the service and food. When we complained re certain disappointments on the standard and discrepancies of the menu and...

Booked a table at the rose and crown this evening at 5pm for a table of five, including a 3 year old. We had wanted to book for 5.30 but they had said that although we could have a table at this time they needed the table back for 6.30, so on the phone I said I would book for...
