We loved our stay at Cabot shores in the Orange yurt. It was a little chilly t first but once it warmed up it was perfect! We have also stayed at the campground which if beautifully set alongsife the brook. Cabot Shores is less than an hour from our home, so it's a great little getaway that's not too far...

A place to unwind, relax and reconnect! It was a great escape from our busy lifestyle. Snow shoeing, the scenery, and the peaceful atmosphere of this place will not disappoint you. The food was excellent and relaxing in the main lodge was very inviting. The owners Paul and Barb and Jay the manager were very accomodating to all of our...

Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Paul, whom with wife Barbara, owns and operates Cabot Shores. My first impression was how homey the main lodge felt despite its enormouse size. It was evident by the various art forms displayed in the lodge that Paul and Barbara have a true passion for spiritually peaceful living, and a deep respect...

I've spent several summer vacations on Cape Breton and another one in the fall for the Celtic Colours music festival. I always wanted to see the National Park in winter, and in December 2015, I finally got the chance. I'm glad I picked Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort. My cousin and I stayed there for a few days after Christmas. Dr....

Thank you for your detailed review of your stay with us. So glad you got to see the moose! He really was spectacular and didn't seem bothered by us at all! We still occasionally see him, now several weeks later. Good for you for coming here in winter, a very special season here on Cape Breton that few people take...

We came away from our first visit to Cabot Shores with new friends. Paul and Barbara, their visiting son Louie and volunteer helper Bernard are all uniquely talented folk who we enjoyed getting to know; they opened their space up to us over the Christmas season, we shared in lovely meals and hiked together to a fabulous waterfall... Top that...

Thanks so much for staying with us over Christmas - we really loved sharing that special time of year with you! We enjoyed making music together, hiking to the waterfalls and preparing a festive meal. A how lovely how friendships can form in these circumstances!

This was my third visit to Cabot Shores and I definitely love the site and our dear hosts Barbara and Paul. This time I brought my partner with me and we stayed in the lodge for two nights. It was cozy, warm and comfortable. The first night we had a delicious vegetarian dinner with Barbara and Paul in their beautiful...

Thank you so much for your kind review and for taking the time to be so detailed about it. You really captured many of the things that Cabot Shores and environment have to offer, even in December! You remind us that the elements are always present and can instantly connect us to the spacious natural environment, and for a time...

We're happy you enjoyed the Mongolian Yurt experience and reviewed it for others. Mongolian Yurts are indeed magical, providing both a comfortable as well as an esthetically pleasing environment. They are very private and offer great views; their interiors are hand-painted in traditional Mongolian motifs by families in Mongolia. Ours are located near the lodge and are heated in winter....

Our stay was awesome. We got one of the yurts for the night and upgraded to an outdoor hot tub as well. Really cool experience. Definitely got the slice of serenity and peace they we were looking for. The food was tasty but a bit expensive. Next time I would eat elsewhere. Highly recommended. Would definitely go back.

Glad you enjoyed the serenity of the Yurt and (chemical-free) Cedar soaker. Thanks for the feedback on our meals. Many of our guests like to linger over a 3-course meal with local wine or organic beer on tap, enjoying the view from the deck or connecting with other guests over dinner. Others, like you, prefer a simpler dining experience. In...

Me and a friend of mine wanted to experience the Cabot Trail on our motorcycles before the season ended, and decided last minute to do it on labour day weekend. Thank you for your kind words and lovely description of our lodge and the land - happy you were able to unwind. We welcome vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian guests (as well as omnivores) - we know it can be difficult to get special-diet meals while on the road in remote areas.
