We were looking for a couple of quiet days away; we got that and more. Situated just outside Aylth, a very quiet wee village, this is a grand country house hotel. We had a very attractive room with a shower AND bath (not so common these days) , and a very comfortable four poster bed. No nouvelle cuisine, the portions...

This is my second review of this hotel, as we stayed here last year. As before, we had a very comfortable stay. We had a different room this time, but just as roomy and very clean indeed. The food was delicious, though the portions are pretty large - a good complaint, I think!! Our border terrier enjoyed his stay as...

Booked this on the strength of previous reviews for a last minute night away and wasn't disappointed. The hotel is full of character from the always roaring fire to the quirky furnishings; the staff were so attentive without being intrusive, and the food was delicious at both dinner and breakfast. We loved that we could eat anytime, even breakfast didn't...

Beautifully fresh sandwiches with tasty fillings, followed by fruit or plain scones which were still slightly warm, meringues and cream and the a selection of little tarts and chou pastry bites with strawberries, raspberries and white chocolate toppings. Endless top ups of coffee and tea, all in the beautiful setting of Lands of Loyal hotel. My only complaint would be...

I have reviewed this hotel twice before and can only repeat my praises of this lovely hotel and its major spectacular feature, the fabulous hall/lounge dominated by a huge log fire which never goes out. The hotel is family run with the delightful Xhosa front of house, staffed by family members and employees (special mention for their "treasure" Sandie) all...

My family and I visited Lands of Loyal yesterday and we ordered a three course meal for three people at a cost of £114.00 which included soft drinks. The service was professional and friendly and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Recommended to all.

We spent a lovely easter weekend here along with our dog. She was made to feel very welcome as we were, and we all loved the opulent great room with the fire going in the massive fireplace. All our food was really excellent - we bought two nights dinner, bed and breakfast and we loved all our meals. Kippers and...

I took my cousin to Lands of Loyal for a light lunch on Saturday and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Delicious food, attentive and professional staff and a very accommodating chef who prepared garlic bread for us despite it not being on the menu. Besides the soup and sandwich menu, there is the option to have half portions of...
