Came here yesterday with a large family group. Once again the Sunday carvery was lovely and the staff very friendly. They've done a bit of redecorating and change of layout in the pub since I last visited. They've done a very good job I think and the new look is very good indeed.

Stayed at the Talbot Arms for a night whilst visiting River Cottage. Rooms at the back of the pub are very clean, modern & comfortable, and the landlord and landlady are very friendly and accommodating - when we couldn't get a taxi to RC, Steve the landlord offered to take us himself! Also within reasonable walking distance to Lyme Regis...

Just had to write a review, Such a great place, Food and Rooms are just excellent !! Steve and Wendy who own it and run it are outstanding hosts. All food products are sourced local and dishes are delicious. Wish there were more places as good as this around.

Couldn't have asked for more. Clean and well sized warm room with big ensuite. Great menu, the slow cooked lamb was amazing and the turkey and ham pie epic. Steve was a great host and the breakfast buffet just topped off a great stay. Heartily recommended. We'll be back to see the redesign finished I'm sure.

I have now stayed at the Talbot Arms Hotel on two separate occasions. This Hotel is the heart and soul of Uplyme your hosts Steve and Wendy are the most wonderful people you could ever meet. It is a village pub that all village pubs should model themselves on. The staff are cheerful and locals know a good thing when...

Stayed for 3 nights in October 2016 - Nice room, everything was modern and clean (think it was brand new, or built within the last year or so), comfortable bed, good location, warm welcome from the owners, good price. Would definitely recommend!

we stayed with a group of friends for a trip to River cottage. Steve and Wendy made us very welcome, organised our taxis, made us wonderful breakfasts - great selection and even provided a meal on the night they don't normally cook. We all enjoyed our stay with them. there is work going on at the premises - but it...

Good service and an excellent lunch. Not usually a fan of carvery but this one was delicious. Plenty of choice of fresh vegetables and three meats. You could have all three if you wanted!! Although on a busy main road parking was easy. Would go there again.

I had a very enjoyable meal at the Talbot with my two children. Good food, engaging staff and a nice atmosphere. Being an absent-minded idiot, I left a bag of shopping there. Going beyond the call of duty, they offered to post it back to me at no charge (I live a couple of hours away, and will recompense them...
