Obviously a favourite with locals, but also friendly to visitors. The staff are very friendly and efficient, no doubt following the examples of Wendy and Steve. The food is really spot on, tasty, lots of it and reasonably priced. The beer is excellent!

We visited this pub whilst staying in a bed and breakfast up the road. We booked ahead for the following evening and it was lovely to be able to walk down for our meal, despite the rain!!!! The food was excellent, home-cooked, piping hot and a good sized portion. Can't wait to re-visit when next in the area. Wish we...

Stayed here recently and we were made very welcome by all including the locals. The accommodation was comfortable with everything we needed. Steve is a great chef , there was no food on our last evening however they were quite happy for us to order in a takeaway and set up a table and plates to use in the restaurant,...

"Best pub food ever" We came here for a 30th birthday on the Saturday of Easter weekend. The landlords were just brilliant. Making us feel very special and serving 18 fantastic meals. They made a lovely cake for the birthday girl, going out of their way at every opportunity to make our visit the best. And they most definitely achieved...

We had wonderful food on Friday and an amazing Carvery on Sunday. It was the best food we had anywhere in the country. We would recommend it to anyone.Five stars for food and service. It would've been great if it served meals every day

I have stayed here twice because it is convenient to visit friends who live nearby. Comfortable bed, clean, cosy and breakfasts great PLUS GOOD VALUE. Will definitely be staying again. Thanks for providing my little haven of privacy after hectic days with children.

The location was chosen to ensure we were not too far from River cottage for our cooking course - only 5 minutes drive in fact. Steve and Wendy were fabulous and immediately offered us a gluten free meal for us both. So welcoming and friendly, they couldn't do enough to make our stay a wonderful experience. The twin room had...

My wife and I stayed here to undertake a cooking course at River Cottage and to explore the area. Steve and Wendy are simply delightful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. They are friendly, genial and very accommodating, Steve even kept for us and served the bread we baked at River Cottage. The breakfast uses local produce and the taste...
