Reviewed 18 February 2012

A group of 5 of us stayed 3 nights in 3 rooms.

At the height of skiing in Japan 15 years ago, this hotel would be filled with 400 guests. There were only 12 guests while we were there in the middle of the week which is not unusual these days for many of the hotels at the Shiga-kogen ski resort area. This meant great skiing on uncrowded slopes with no lift lines.

Breakfast was good, but the dinner was very good and plentiful. In fact, it was about the best food value we had during our travels in Japan.

Sink and high-tech toilet are in the rooms. Futon beds --- see image. Japanese family style showers and soaking bath are on the second floor.

Service was excellent. Without asking, Hisatoshi, the owner arranged a large van to take us to Yudanaka to catch the train since we had to leave too early to catch the bus from Shiga Kogen to Nagano.
