Detailed Reviews
The service was good, as was the food, and the boat trip into the jungle was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the very good local food. We also enjoyed swimming in the pool and the views were great. The hotel was very quiet when we stayed there, and the staff were lovely and helpful.
On the downside, it was all rather run down and poorly maintained. A lot of the design is very ugly, with huge steel ramps seeming to go nowhere. Several lights were not working, including those on the landing outside our room so we had to grope our way back to our room in the evenings.
The building was of concrete, and indeed the entire room seemed to be made of concrete too, including the bed. Do immediately that you arrive ask for the mattress topper to be fitted to your bed or you won’t get a wink of sleep. The two good things about our room were the view of the lake and the space. The bathroom is large, although you may stump your toes on the concrete step into the bath. I’m not a fan of Bauhaus style so I don’t think I could ever get to like this place, but you have to appreciate that it is in a jungle, facilities may be limited, and at least the staff did everything they could.

Quite a journey from Ipoh but I love driving through the villages and forest. This is our second time here but this round we brought more people; my family. We were welcomed by cheerful receptionist. We booked Room Pulai and Tualang. Pulai has 2 bedrooms and Tualang is for a couple. Spacious bathroom and bathtub😍 Facing the lake and I enjoy the view from our room. Here you are free to do your own jungle trekking or book a package with the hotel if you want to cruise around the lake and look for rafflesia and elephant or visit orang asli village. Basically there is no restaurant nearby but you can try cheaper and local food at the Royal Belum Jetty. I had asam pedas beef at Hornbill Restaurant and it was yummy😁 Whenever I feel like going somewhere far from crowd, I love to come here!
The only thing, they need to wash the curtain regularly due to lizard droppings. Anyways love to come back here soon! I tried the massage too and it was good👍

The resort is located within the rainforest and has a beautiful surrounding. Rooms are spacious and we stayed in 2 rooms which are connected. We could hear frogs croaking all night long which made us sleep soundly.
Reservation was quite a hassle and we could not find any available date in Agoda, Booking.com and any other hotel portals even though it is listed. We whatsapped the hotel but the response was slow and eventually we called by phone. Reservation has to be secured by full payment made via bank transfer. We find this practice a bit unusual.
We booked the Dicovery Belum package which required permits into the rainforest. It was very disppointing as a few of the destinations in the itinerary were cancelled due to spotting of tiger in the nearby area. However, this was not comminicated to us beforehand and we were only informed when we boarded the boat.
It was such a shame that during the return journey, the boat ran out of fuel and all of us were stuck in the middle of the lake for about an hour until the guide finally managed to contact the resort to send someone to deliver the fuel to refill our boat.
There are 2 restaurants in the resort, one serves ala carte and the other one serves buffet. We tried the ala carte on the first day and the dishes served were the most salty food we ever had in our lifetime, almost unedible!
Buffet breakfast was mediocre, but I wouldn't pay for such a price if not it was already included in our room rate.
It is quite a pity that our trip is ruined due to the poorly organised discovery package. Otherwise, we would have enjoyed better in such a beautiful natural environment.

Booked and confirmed houseboat for 3d 2n excursion for friends and family. No additional SOP conditions was relayed to us 2 months after booking, except for reduced pax in boat allowed. 3 wks before trip, we were informed to change it to a 2d 1n trip, as per SOP conditions and they even DOUBLE the houseboat rate we booked per night which was confirmed earlier. Manager was not accommodating to assist us.

Spend two nights with friends at this beautiful - away from it all retreat. The staff gave us excellent services which one gets from a 5 star establishment. One wonders why is there a need to travel thousand of miles to far away places when such beautiful retreat can be found locally. A place where you definitely get value for money. We had dinner on the top deck of the houseboat attended personally by the head chef. Come around full moon and you can watch the moon rising behind the cloud. In the afternoon one take a dip at the icy cool waterfall. In the meantime our fishy friends will tickle your feet nibbling at the dead skin.

The resort setting is beautiful, tranquil rainforest, clouds over the lake, everything you can dream of. But at the prices they are charging, I would expect more. The room itself is spacious, but I had to ask maintenance to come several times to repair lights that are not working and a toilet that was plugged.
Also, the rooms near the bridge - you can hear the traffic. Hardly what you would expect from such an ecological setting. After all, I came to get away from traffic! I would not recommend the rooms facing the bridge at all because this is the East West highway.
The food was delicious. Everything was tasty and well done, except for maybe the chicken chop which was a bit salty. We took several excursions with the hotel boat, like a round island trip and to see the Rafflesia. It was pricey, but the staff were very helpful and accommodating.
All in all, I would definitely return, but to a better room not facing the highway. I would also ask the hotel to better maintain the facilities. The hotel was relatively empty at this season, and still, booking was such a hassle as you couldn't get it in Agoda. I would have thought you would want to market your hotel better, no?

Just like the previous commenter, I was asked to cancel but nowhere in the message was an offer made for a full refund. I do not want to reschedule, I want a refund.
And yesterday I proceeded to make a cancellation with the option of "waiving fees" on Booking app, however there is no reply after 24 hours.
And today I tried again to proceed with cancellation with the same option, but there no longer is a choice to waive fees ie get full refund anymore.
So yes, I agree with the previous commenter, this is an unethical property owner out to fleece people during this difficult time.
Kindly reply to my query on Booking app if this is not your intention. 👎👎👎

I am disappointed in your response because of your response time, your commitment to refund and failure to do so and the ethics to keep our money not having for filled the booking.
Our booking for the 13th-15th of April was not able to go ahead due to your closure. On the 27th of April your management committed to a refund, ‘we will definitely process with your refund.’
On the 25th June a letter was received, ‘truly sorry as no refunds is allowed by the management at this time. However, rest assured that your money will not be forfeited, as we do allow for reservations to be rescheduled to a future date.’
I have several problems with this letter. Firstly, receiving it in June, way after MCO has finished. The reputation of your establishment and customer relationship service should be maintained at this time and 2 months is not acceptable. Secondly, perhaps most shockingly, is the retraction of your commitment to refund, which damages your reputation. The commitment to refund came from your management. Thirdly, I am not rest assured that my money will not be forfeited. We’re leaving Maylaysia and it’s not possible to rebook. Lastly, upon contacting you on 26th June about this weekend (4th July) before we leave I still haven’t had a response. Therefore I have little faith in your customer service.
I would appreciate an adequate resolution on this today. The commitment to your email on the 27th April is expected.

Amazing rainforest located in Gerik , Perak ! We were treated exclusively by Abby and the team from Belum resort , as first timer venture into the jungle trip ( 13 do us including 3 kids ) was extremely exited . Filled with curiosity and fears ( Leeches )
RAUL and ( RamBo ) were two of the jungle hero who lead us to the adventure jungle trip . Exclusive resort with excellent service by IZZAT and staffs . The villa where we stayed is cosy , clean and well maintained, in the middle of the jungle surrounded all the nature creatures....🦜🦥🐘🦧🐟🦗🐜🦋🐛🪱🐵 and good landscaping . Thank to landscape specialist ABO who provide us very informative knowledge !
Thanks BELUM team , will definitely be back again !

We visited for a few days early february and unfortunately the weather was quite rainfull - and that could influence on the perception of the hotel too. The hotel itself is average - especially the bungalows needs a little redoceration. Probably due to the very low occupancy the restaurants only ran on low foodservice (no buffet-service etc). The staff however always very kind, helpfull and smiling.
The situation of the property is quite close to a major road, so from some Villas it does not feel as isolated as we thougt it to be.

There's no perfect timing or best month to spot a blooming Rafflesia. If you are lucky, you'll get to see one.
Yes they have. It's a simple route along the lake, which take 2 hours back and fro.
Dear Sir, the reviews are not all bad and we keep improving from time to time although we admit that we are far from perfect. The experience here is a bit different as we actually partly trying to conserve the forest so a lot of common luxuries have to go away. Yet if you want a unique experience truly sync with the rainforest, we are here for you.
Hi, amending the date should not be a problem thank you
