Good location for stay. Room is a bit old. The room we stayed has gas smell. Dinner is ok. Breakfast is good. Nearby the hotel there's a bridge with mountains and waterfall views. There are wild animals around like raccoon and deers.

Driving from Abashiri to both national parks are not far at all. From Abashiri to Akan is about 1.5 hours. I am not sure Abasiri will be for you in summer as I was there for the ice-breaking cruise, light house and it was close for me to go to Shiretoko national park. where I joined an ice walking tour. We saw lots of deer and foxes in March.
