Our family of four (2 adults, 2 children aged 7 and 5) stayed with Yoko over Christmas 2015 and had a fantastic time! Yoko is the most wonderful host. We didn't want to stay in a small hotel room and our friends had mentioned Yoko's house. After eating out many nights in Tokyo, it was great to be able to...

This place was recommended to us by and friend. Yoko was a bit slow to get back to us but I am so glad I waited!! We had the most spectacular time. Yoko is the best. She is the nicest, most lovely and gracious hostess. She'll always stop and have a chat (and a laugh) with you even though she...

Yoko goes far above the call of duty! She is warm and friendly and helpful. She tells you all the neat things to do in the area, and how to do them. They are in a wooded area, really near the ski area. I did the walk up to the lake that she recommended, and loved it. I needed more...

Our 3 nights stay was really extraordinarily good! The location is a bit far from the 'center' but very close to the lift. Our host was so friendly and helpful. She picked us up from the station and later offered us a ride whenever we needed it! She gave us insider information about the region and cared about, that we...

Whist we were in Hakuba-mura again staying with friends this February, we booked through Maison de Sasagawa for the babysitting of our two children through the Maison's other business, Hakuba Mommy Babysitting. This was the second time we have done this. My children are 1 & 3yo boys and were in the care of Manami for a week while we...

I've been traveling for a bit now (6 months) and been to so many guesthouses... So far this is the best place ive been to! It is a real guest-house, the sasagawa family actually lives there and accepts guests. The owner (yoko) is absolute wonder! She is just making it feel like a home away from home being so friendly...

I stayed for 3 nights during January for a ski trip. Things that make a great hotel/stay are: Location, customer service, price, and quality of the hotel. Location: a 5 minute walk from the gondola at Happo, 5 minute walk from Rhythm ski rentals, and easy walk to restaurants in town. Price: my goodness. 3500 yen for 1 night in...

I almost hate to write a review of this place because I would love for it to remain my little secret. I've been coming here for four years now, and I think it may be my favorite guesthouse I've ever stayed in. Many of the guests are repeat customers like me who keep coming back because it really is the...

My family loves this little place and we have gone back different years to go skiing. Now, we always think of heading back here to ski at Hakuba. As a family run pension, Maison de Sasagawa offers just the right mix of western and Japanese rooms, food, and hospitality as well as internet throughout the rooms. Yoko really makes your...
