We just spent 6 nights staying here. We highly recommend it. We had a traditional room with a Western toilet and wash basin. We had relaxing onsen after skiiing. It is really clean most days just my daughter & I were in it. Breakfast was 8am. I had Japanese breakfast everyday and it was different. There was a different type...

If you are looking for a very hospitable ryokan that's conveniently located, this is the ryokan to be. My wife, daughter and I stayed for 5 nights recently and were greatly impressed with the service. Ko-San, the owner was always helpful and she always greet with a broad smile. We chose to have dinner once in the hotel and were...

The Ryokan is a small 15 room family run outfit. Excellent service throughout our stay. The in-house onset was good and the best part of it all is the dinners, we had Shabu Shabu and just simple ramen the next night. Both nights were very good. Ryokan is clean and well kept, the small garden by the side was simply...

My room had beautiful views of the valley on two sides, and was very comfortable. The food available was exquisite! The Hosts were helpful, and even brought me to see some local sites. I recommend Nozawa Onsen Kiriya Ryokan 5 stars!

We stayed here three nights mid March. Stayed in family room but was two of us. The hosts could not have been more helpful or attentive. Nothing was too much trouble The rooms were clean and authentic. The beds were the most comfortable we had in Japan and we stayed in some fancy city hotels. The doonas were superb and...

This was our 4th visit to Nozawa but our 1st to Kiriya. Wished we had found this beautiful place for our previous stays as it is fabulous. Our room was spacious and beautiful and the futons very comfortable. We had a toilet and vanity but no ensuite bathroom which was not a problem with the lovely onsen for bathing. Staff...

This is our 2nd time staying at Kiriya Ryokan (the last time 2 years ago which was also our last outing to Nozawa) and it certainly has not lost its charm. We took a traditional room for our family of 4, and it had its own ensuite. The room was large, and very comfortable. It was well heated for us...

We spend 1 night in Kiriya Ryokan. The Staff was so helpful, as during day time we went hiking, and in need of washing machine to clear our muddy clothes. The staff actually allow us to use their 'staff hostel' washing machine. The dinner and breakfast served is also of excellent quality.

We had 5 families and 7 kids on a ski trip. The Ryokan is a nice walk to the Yu Road and it passes by the Omaga Onsen. Nappa Cafe is literally a staircase walk away. Ko and her team were fabulous and had to put up with our noisy kids. very comfortable English speaking environment.

This is a lovely old ryokan oozing charm and character. We loved our room overlooking the pond and across to the mountains. Ko the owner is so incredibly helpful and her english is great which really helped with organizing transfers, reservations etc My only disappointment is that there was not an outdoor Onsen, just inside. This ryokan is really good...
