My family & I absolutely love Furusato Lodge. The family that run this Lodge are so lovely, especially love the daughter Fumiko. We have stayed here the last 3 seasons and are booked to come back in January 2017 with friends and family. We have also made quite a few friends from previous years, sitting around the fire place at... More

We had a great time here and will be back next year, highly recomend Furusato........... the family that owns and runs the lodge, including the staff made everyone's stay a 10+. The location is about 100 metres to the connection lift (Nagasaka gondie link) at the bottom of the Karasawa run. P.S. the hot sake that is on the fire... More

We loved Furusato Lodge. Warm, friendly staff - nothing is too much trouble. Great atmosphere - cosy fire in the lounge area and a good place to meet fellow travellers. Originally tried to get into Villa Nozawa but it was full - actually glad we couldn't as Furusato was quieter and more intimate. Every time we called in at Villa... More

I stayed at Resort House Furusato for 5 nights with a group of 8, 6 adults & 2 kids. It was very homely with plenty of room in public areas to relax at the end of the day. Evening meals were delicious & well priced. Rooms were basic but roomy and comfortable. Great storage & drying area for ski gear... More

Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms clean with plenty of storage. Short walk to ski lift. Only ten minute walk to centre of town, or 200 m to free shuttle bus stop. Was a great family holiday, and I'll definately return there.

This is our second trip to Nozawa-Onsen and just as good as the first. I booked through Nozawa Holiday's as I did last year hoping to stay at Lodge Nagano with Luke and family however they were booked out and they suggested Resort House Furusato as it is part of the Nozawa Holiday's group, so glad we got to stay... We stayed at Furusato in March 2015 and we absolutely loved it! The lodge is beautiful and being traditional Japanese added to the experience. The staff are wonderfull, nothing we asked for was a problem. My children loved the staff and wanted their photos taken with all of them. The food (breakfast) was delicious, my son even commenting "I don't... More

If you are anticipating a swank hotel ski chalet room as enjoyed in the western world you might be disappointed, but hey we are in Japan and this quaint traditional japanese has a lot to offer. We stayed at villa Nozawa last year and had such a good time decided to return again but being of the older generation needed... More

We also booked Furusato via the Nozawa Holidays crew based at Villa Nozawa. Furusato is your typical basic ski accommodation, functional - not luxurious! We enjoyed staying at a lodge run by a Japanese family and felt that added to our experience in Japan! Fumiko speaks very good English, so communication is not really an issue for non-japanese speakers at... More

A friend recommended Villa Nozawa lodge owned by an Australian former colleague of his and his Japanese wife. So I wrote to the lodge enquiring about rooms. They were full and so booked us into Furusato lodge instead. As I explained to them I speak Japanese and was excited about this as Japanese lodges & Ryokan are traditionally run by... More
