Great spot to travel through Nozawa and enjoy the winter paradise. Staff are super friendly and helpful - can even book your evening dining options. Provided maps are also very helpful to navigate the town.

Have you looked at the shink bullet trains? - you should be able to get there sooner if you want to I would think- we left Kyoto about 10am and were at Iiyama in time for the last Nozawa Liner bus to Nozawaonsen which I think was about 4:40pm- and that was going by 3 different trains so we could do a very scenic slower 3 hour train for the middle leg rather than a shink bullet train.
