The hotel itself was ok, just ok, it is away from everything, not the cleanest place. Do not eat here, me an my wife both got salmonella/food poisoning. On the trip plan, it stated this place was a "gourmet breakfast", you kidding me. The size of one scrambled egg, rice and beans, a tiny roll and coffee. No juice, no...

I went to Costa Rica two weeks ago and I wish I could go back tomorrow. When I got to CR I wanted to feel like I was in CR, I did not wanted to stay in a hotel chain, I just wanted to enjoy Costa Rica to the max. Corteza Amarilla is a great, quiet, peaceful place. Connected with...

When we got to the gate everything was dark. We thought oh no we have been ripped off so we drove around thinking there must be another entrance. We couldn't find one. When we went back to the gate within a minute or two a gentleman opened the gate for us. We drove in and parked. The man didn't ask...

Pros: The courtyard garden is peaceful and the hotel itself is like a work of art. The staff is so kind, the food is delicious and authentic Costa Rican. Our room was huge and the bed was super comfy. The bathrooms have incredible amounts of natural light and beautifully tiled counters. Ample parking for those with cars. Cons: The wifi...

My husband and stayed for 1 night after flying in to San Jose for our first time to Costa Rica. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very big. The grounds were beautiful and the artwork was unique and unusual. Our package included breakfast the next morning which consisted of fresh fruit, juice, coffee, eggs, rice...

The service in this hotel was impeccable, our room comfortable and spacious. The decor was amazing and gives the hotel a special character and charm. The furniture individual and quirky, always something interesting to look at around the next corner. The garden was good to relax in on our last evening, knowing that we only had a short drive the...

Beautiful hotel! Art and colors everywhere which made all of our pictures so beautiful. The room is very big and so unique. Two double beds even though we would have preferred a king. Bathroom is big and gorgeous. Ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was wonderful. Great service and English speaking, which is helpful. We took a taxi...

This hotel is really interesting - lots of art work and meandering paths through a beautiful garden. Our room was huge and very comfortable. The shower was amazing - almost a room! We had lunch and dinner at the hotel, and the food was outstanding. The location is not so great - nothing within walking distance.

We stayed here the first night in Costa Rica before we were heading to Sarapiqui. The hotel is colourful and ceatively decorated, and the staff are friendly and helped us to arrange transport to Sarapiqui the next day. We knew the hotel was a bit isolated, so we had decided to have lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant. When...

This is a quirky art lodge decorated with masses of decoupage and mosaic work crafted by the owner which gives it a unique feel. Nothing was ordinary. There's an eclectic mix of artwork, sculpture, ironwork and chandeliers that are exotic and flamboyant. I stayed for two nights, one post and the other pre-flight home. Both rooms were spacious (I stayed...
