Detailed Reviews
We arrived at this hotel at night and it looked lovely. We went into reception to be greeted by a lovely lady (Ina I think) who as wonderful. She came over to us and said put your bags here and go get some food before it shuts. What a nice way to start your stay.
We then checked in and we were given a standard room rather than the suite we booked. We went and asked Ina and she then gave us the suite we booked with no fuss at all.
The rooms are amazing! So clean, modern and spacious that you could not fault them. When they cleaned them everyday, and I saw this as our room was off the pool, the cleaning lady was on her hands and knees cleaning the floor (that didn’t really need it) as well as cleaning the massive glass doors we had. You could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel in any way.
The food - so I saw bad reviews on this and I can see why they said that, but they are being unfair. The food isn’t amazing but it didn’t ruin the holiday as people suggest. The salads were good, fresh fish being cooked was nice, pasta bar and pizzas nice but it was always the same food and sometimes the hot food was cold. The bread was lovely and fresh and the staff were always cleaning your plates away when you finish so well done to them. The all inclusive drinks were the cheaper drinks but they did cocktails, had Amstel on tap and the spirits were alright. You could always buy better if you wanted and that wasn’t expensive.
The pool was very nice but not heated as it’s advertised. Didn’t bother us as it was so hot you wanted a cool pool, but if the weather isn’t nice then you would feel it. Again always clean around this area and you need to get there early if you want a lounger as they all go by 9am. Didn’t use the jacuzzi but wife did and said it was ok.
The entertainment was alright and I wouldn’t say amazing but we enjoyed it. The animation director was great and got the crowd going, and made it actually, but again we enjoyed it as did our son.
Excursions aren’t done through the hotel which is unusual however Puerto Rico is only down the road and you can get them cheap there. Saying that, the manager of the hotel helped me with some trouble we had with an excursion booking (not through them) and thank you for him for doing this. He leads by example to his staff.
All in all we enjoyed it. I wouldn’t quite say it was 4 star, probably 3+, but with a lovely beach only five minute walk away, little towns you can visit around you, hotel staff and decor very good, I would recommend here if you aren’t too bothered about the food.

What a super wonderful and relaxing holiday we had! The choice to stay at Labranda Costa Mogan was perfect for two adults needing a break, sunshine and a relax in November. This hotel offered us real value for money.
We chose a suite with an ocean view and the room was more than expected! A large room offering enough space to feel really comfy, also very clean thanks to Lucia. Tea in the room was needed as breakfast opens late, at 8 am. Excellent beds.
Toilet and shower was a bit different than what I am used to, only having a half glass door for privacy so maybe not a good choice if trvelling with a friend??
Room included a private terrace, not big but enough for two people, had two sunbeds and it felt luxurious to be able to plunge into the jaccuzzi after a day in the sun or walking. Ocean view was overwhelming and the terrace was sunlighted all day, no need to lay by the crowded pool.
All inclusive was good and as expected. Service was impeccable, thank you once more.
When choosing a hotel for your holiday, location is important. We travelled here by hotel bus, maybe 30-40: min from the airport and wanted a quiet place for unwinding, Labranda Costa Mogan offers this! We wanted a place where there weren’t many children screaming and crying around and managed to pick well. Hardly any families here at all, some on the beach.
From this quiet village of Playa del Cura you can really really easily and extremely cheap travel around the island by local bus departing from the roundabout, about 100 m from the hotel.
You need masks for entering the bus, get stuff you forgot from the local Spar shop. It is situated just by the roundabout too. I recommend a bus towards Maspalomas beach and dunes (20 min) and walk back by the beach with the wind in your back towards the pier of (no sand in your eyes). This large and long beach is a wonderful place too!
The beach itself, Playa del Cura, is calm, has no touristic air and just feels real and there’s only a few sunbeds to rent. For some reason it is always very calm there, even if it was windy! Keep also in mind the neighbouring beach, Tauro beach as an upcoming place for relaxing. Some building sites going on there.
From our excellent suite room at the Labranda Costa Mogan we could hear the ocean waves in the evening and night, does this explain why you need to stay at Labranda?!

We was referred to this hotel by our travel agent after many cancelled holidays throughout the lockdowns and we are so glad they did cancel as what a stay we had. Beautiful hotel with lovely modern decoration and rooms. We stayed in the whirlpool suite which was a lovely experience able to get away from the pool and chill on comfortable sun beds or in the hot tub on our balcony. The suites have a perfect view of the sun rising which was a lovely way to start everyday. All of the staff in the hotel were very polite and welcoming, the entertainment staff were great and got the best out of a hard crowd at times which was good for what seemed to be a new team of people. Food was always nice and a good standard lots of flavours although the buffet could do with some more meat/meal options in the evenings was a very standard European menu. A few nights we ventured out once to a lovely pizza restaurant less then 5 minutes from the hotel above the spar shop which was cheap and very cheerful. Another two nights we got a cab to playa de mogan which has a lovely harbour and lots of bars and restaurants. Would definitely recommend going all inclusive at the hotel as it is not hard to drink it throughout the day with self service larger throughout the hotel and the fast bar service. The hotels area has some lovely land to walk around for when you want to get out and the a very wavy beach 1 minute from the pool exit. The pool area is clean and calm always able to get a nice bed before 10/11am no-one rushing down to put towels on them. The Balinese beds are definitely worth purchasing for a day for a different experience with a peaceful atmosphere and good music. Thank you Labranda staff for a great stay would definitely go back for a reasonably priced but luxury stay.

We stayed at the hotel Labranda Costa Mogan in June 2022 and overall had a nice stay but a few things I think need highlighting which if you do book straight from the website may become obvious but if you book through a travel agent might be missed.
Firstly when we booked this hotel we chose the all inclusive option but its not completely all inclusive, the main picture you are shown on every website is the pool area, the picture you are seeing is not included in the all inclusive it's 35 euros a day. When you look on the website it does tell you this but it also say secluded and no children, the photo I have attached is taken from the main footpath past the hotel form outside also the cream building at the end is the kids club so I would say if does not fit the description. The main pool area if nice and very clean but the sunbeds are very close to each other.
The entertainment around the pool can be a bit full on, whilst the staff carrying it out are full of energy it never stops except for dinner all day, every 5 minutes some one will be asking you do you want to do aqua fit, dancing, darts, etc etc.
This is the only hotel in the world I have ever stopped that does not have complimentary tea and coffee in the rooms, the facilities are there to make it but if you want any type of drink in the room this is an extra payment, very strange for all inclusive. The room was clean and bright but a bit of a strange set up the wall of the bathroom are glass and the glass door finishes 6 inch from the ceiling. To put this into context there is no privacy if you are in the bathroom everything can be heard in the bedroom plus if you use the bathroom during the night and turn on the light its like put the main light on in the room. Our shower must have broken at some point and was held together with blue tape meaning you could not adjust the shower head which flooded the room every time it was used unless we put towels on the floor next to the door. Talking of towels if you want a towel for the pool you need to give them 10 euro per towel deposit plus another 1 euro every clean towel you use, very strange again.
The food was ok but as some people have said before sometimes it was cold and what you had a lunch time was often what you got on a night. There is another restaurant but this is 35 euro per person and is only open 2 nights a week and the menu didn't look that good to me, I have attached the menu.
This may sound like a harsh review but if you are expecting the big all inclusive experience this is probably not the hotel for you

The hotel has some positives, but unfortunately was not my ideal holiday.
Pros:
Great design, cozy rooms, probably the best thing about this hotel.
Location on the coast, as opposed to other hotels on the hill, but there is another hotel next to it of 3 stars, which is actually on the beach.
Elevators always available and never crowded
Cleaning is good
Reception mostly friendly and helpful
Cons:
Only hand soap in the bathroom, no other toiletries!
No kettle / tea drinking facilities in the room.
Playa del cura as a location is not great. The beach has lots of big rocks under water and there were always big waves.
Once you leave the hotel there is nothing in the neighbourhood. The walk to almadores is also not very exciting, there is rubbish and other types of waste. There is a bathtub lying next to the hotel.
There is only ONE small swimming pool, unless you are a toddler. On 3 occasions there was no possibility to get a sun lounger at all until later in the afternoon. The pool area is very small and extremely crowded - not as advertised on the hotel pics! . People were lying right next to each other in 2 rows, which I wouldn't appreciate under normal circumstances, never mind with social distancing. I stayed in several other hotels during corona where this rule was complied with much better ( just have a look at the neighbouring hotel)
Food luke warm! Constantly . Even when it looks like it has just been cooked.
All inclusive drinks - first time i see such basic cocktails as mojito and pina colada not included in a 4 star hotel.
Restaurant is located in the basement. No open air dining.
No coffee or tea available at lunch or dinner.
Coffee machine produces drinks only with extra sweet milk
The private pool (30 euro a day) is not really a pool, just bali beds on the water. Unfortunately they are only good for lying down and have no reclining/sitting option

Dear osca321, We would like to extend our thanks to you for having chosen us to enjoy your holidays. Just as for having transmitted your feedback concerning our hotel and services. On one side, we appreciate your positive mentions with regards to our cleaning and reception service and the entire hotels' interior design which evokes the Atlantic sea. Conversely, we regret not having met your aspirations and we apologize if you felt that our service did not measure up your expectations in any case. It should be kept in mind that our hotel location and description it is shown in any website wherever we are advertised, as well as the beach features. As regards to the room facilities, unfortunately we have not record about your request about the mentioned. As we would have provided the above as long as we would have known. With reference to the pool area, we also could have solved the sunbeds “issue” if you would had informed us about. Also the pictures correspond to reality with regards to the swimming pool area, so we do not understand this point in your comment actually. Lastly, we would have liked to know some of the points mentioned in your comment during your stay. So we could have done something to improve your experience and make your holidays an unforgettable experience, as per usual. Thank you and best regards, FRONT OFFICE MANAGER.

Visited hotel September 2021, stunning hotel as newly renovated. However full of disappointments. We paid for ‘All inclusive’ however need to pay for things like towels and most drinks (menu attached, a tick means it’s free , as you can see only a handful on there) you even have to pay to go into the separate pool which is €30 a day.
We was told a couple days in we could upgrade our “all inclusive package” to include premium drinks which has the start (*) however we was never offered this on arrival and was never told how much more this would be!
When we arrived we thought the hotel was huge and had 3 pools we then found out that half was residential and we was only allowed in 1 pool unless we paid extra to go into the other.
Bar & Entertainment staff were extremely friendly they all spoke all different languages, however everyone else didn’t care and was so rude.
We were told the ‘massage man’ was on holiday the whole time we was there so couldn’t use there facility.
Our room had a beautiful sea view , which we had to pay extra for obviously. However our fridge was not cold it kept all our water warm and the bed was two single beds pushed together!!! They was not even clipped together! Therefore in the middle of the night there became a gap in the middle of the bed, the beds were extremely solid and incredibly uncomfortable we both struggled to sleep and woke up in pain everyday, the sun loungers were comfier!
No one from the hotel was able to give any information or offer any excursions, we had to independently hire a car and travel out to other towns in order to do any activities.
Location is extremely quite, perfect for those who want to chill and just stay at the resort, however if you wanted to adventure outside the hotel there is only 2 restaurants/bars. They don’t give you a feel for the area, we was told multiple times by staff we needed to drive out a minimum of 20 minuets to go anywhere lively.
Food was very good, very accommodating, multiple meals available which are all freshly cooked. The poolside bar was open most days after 3pm serving deep fried food, would of been nice if cold snacks were available throughout the day too.
Overall the hotel was aesthetically beautiful but the hidden costs behind it all isn't worth it. Wouldn’t return in a rush.

Dear Kayanna_x, We would like to thank you for your visit and detailed feedback as regards to your recent stay in our renovated hotel. We appreciate your opinion a lot, it will help us improve the services we offer. With respect to the all inclusive service, it is important to indicate that towels are not a paying service at all. Customers must leave a deposit that it will be returned when checking out, in order to ensure the return. Respecting all inclusive drinks, we must state that among the full menu of national drinks brand there are some of them not included which is about a higher standard. Concerning the cost of the use of La Riviera Beach Club Area, it is shown on our website that it is not included and thereby it is an extra service. It is an exclusive, private, and quite area only for adults apart for the main swimming pools and facing the beachfront. Which does not correspond unfortunately with the description of “separate pool” on your comment. With regards to the services offered upon arrival, we just do not understand this point of your review. We have realized (checking in our system) that you checked in much earlier than the stablished check in time (14.00PM), apart from explaining all the services and facilities, there are plenty of information in the welcome package, QR codes.. etc around the hotel. We have a 24h reception service willing to help and assist our guests. We are disappointed that you did not feel the confidence to ask everything you needed to know regretfully. We are pleased to know that you pointed our bar and entertainment services and customer service. All our staff try their best continuously to raise in general guests experiences according to our valuation and good position on social media. In relation to the point in your review about excursions and activities, we let you know that there is a representative in our hotel coming 5 times a week. Whom you could have approached and you could have rented a car and booked some trips if you have wished. We would have liked to know all your suggestions stated in your review during your stay. we could have done something to improve your level of satisfaction according to the rest of our customers. With best regards, FRONT OFFICE MANAGER.

We have just returned from Labranda Costa Mogan can I start by saying this is a beautiful hotel location not great no beach as such but the hotel is spotless clean great beds for a good nights sleep the shower is a rainfall and the water is always hot. Swimming pool area lovely although beds are close together and if you are not up early you’ll struggle to get a bed as they are all reserved even though notices are on the bed telling you not to. The biggest asset to the hotel is the animation team they are fantastic the best I have ever known and we travel 4 times a year, the day time entertainment is great as is the evening and Henry and the team try to get everyone to join in if they want. Now for the downside the photos you see on the website are not completely accurate more staged for advertising. We had an issue with one of our rooms on arrival it being a disabled room and to change we had to pay an 10euro a night but when I queried it we got the money refunded and a complementary bottle of cava in our room thank you. But I asked to speak to the manager as I wanted to make my feelings known as to things I didn’t think were right in the hotel,4 days in a row I asked to see the manager and still he did not contact me. My issues are that there are a lot of hidden extras when you go all inclusive you expect it to be all inclusive but no beach club 30 euro a day balinese bed by the pool 15 euro a day a’la carte restaurant 35 euro per person coffee set in your room 12.95 with daily refill safety deposit 15 euro no changing facility on the day of departure so we had to pay 45 euro to keep the room on to have a shower. These are all things I wanted to discuss with the manager face to face. My other issues were the drinks very poor quality of spirits although both the wine and beer are good but forget the cocktails. Food in the restaurant is ok and you can get enough to eat although the choices are limited and not so good if you are vegetarian. I am being truthful in this review but I would have felt better if I had spoken to the manager first. All in all we had a lovely holiday the weather was fantastic and it is a lovely hotel with a great animation team .

Dear Nessie C, We would like to thank you for your review. Also for having chosen our renovated hotel to spend your recent holidays at Playa Del Cura. We regret that our Junior Suites have not been to your liking. We did our best to offer you a better room with sea view and far from the main facilities of the hotel, just as you requested. Concercing our extra services, we would like to indicate that in our website there is a full description about the facilities, and services included. Our all inclusive consist of national drinks and cocktails, snacks and meals, but it does not correlate with facilities, room amenities or use of exclusive areas. We are happy to know that you enjoyed a lot with our fantastic animation team and activities :) Our main commitment and objective is the satisfaction of our customers. So, to guarantee the preference for our hotels year after year, the management team, together with the head of departments and the rest of the staff, continuously strives to offer the best quality and ensure that all our guests return to their homes with beautiful memories of their holidays. On behalf of all of us, we strongly regret that some of the services provided were not to your liking. And even more regarding the misunderstanding with relation to your request of speaking personally with me. We hope you can excuse us as the information did not flow properly regretfully. We are very grateful for your kindness in leaving us a comment and thus giving us all the details about your stay. Your honesty and feedback are much appreciated as it is the basis on which we will continue working to improve. We would like to receive you again in a not too distant future, we will be pleased to allocate you in our comforting hotel! With our best regards, Hotel Manager.

Travelled as a couple and booked separate flights and hotel through Travel Republic - which I'm so glad I did as I could not have justified the prices TUI and Jet 2 charge for their package to this hotel. The glossy, relaxed and chilled impression given by their advertising and photos is not the reality of the holiday you will get.
The hotel itself has been refurbished to a lovely standard and is cleaned throughout to a good standard. It was formally the much larger Rivera Marina Hotel and has reduced it's size by about half and therefore half the outdoor pool area.
The Junior sea view suite was comfortable and daily housekeeping was good.
The food in the restaurant was quite good for All Inclusive standard. There is a hard working Animation team who are all friendly that cater for the entertainment of children and families.
Mostly all hotel staff were polite and friendly
We were fairly satisfied for the price we paid, however we probably would not return, and these are the reasons why:
Not suitable for couples or those expecting a relaxing break.
Mainly dominated by French families with children charging about around the pool and in the restaurant. The animation is mostly all in French and is very loud especially round the pool area and caters mostly for the children at night too. The chill out area is a waste of space and time and expensive, especially when there is sometimes not enough space for those that want to just sun bathe away from the pool. There was a daily smell if sewerage around the outdoor area and pool - awful.
Pool towels could be hired for deposit but then they charged again if you wanted to change them . Kettle in room but if you want tea/coffee , etc it is charged for. You could only get water from the machine in the bar or restaurant so no free water in bottles in the room, again you had to purchase bottles. Cocktails- poor and weak.
I believe in an honest review and if you are a family with children you will probably find this hotel ok , but it will turn into an expensive holiday with all the extras to pay for. We are well travelled and have been visiting Gran Canaria a couple of times a year for the last 10+ years. We chose this hotel for a change and because we are visiting GC at Xmas, it looked good and we got lucky with the price. We will stick with our usual visits to Taurito in future, Suite Princess hotel is 4 star and all the extras and more are included.

Dear RachJarv, thank you for your comment and we are happy about the nice words of our staff. The building was separate some years ago, so the other pool is just for clients of the apartments, but our hotel offer on pool for all the clients and the beach club, that is with reservation and extra payment where just adults have the entrance and in this private area you can really relax. Thank you also about the lovely words about the cleaning and hard work of our team. Kind regards FRONT OFFICE MANAGER.

Just returned from a weeks all inclusive at Labranda, Jan 23
Over all a great place but definitely had its downsides.
So the hotel itself is absolutely lovely, decorated to a high standard it looks great and even smells amazing when you walk in.
The place is spotlessly clean aswell including the pool area.
Is also right next to the sea so if you get a sea view room and it's not too hot you can sleep with your balcony door open and listen to the waves lap onto the shore.
All the staff are fantastic, super friendly and really helpfull.
The entertainment, well during the day it's the normal stuff you'd expect and the staff do a good job of trying to get everyone involved, especially when the gusts vary from young families to couples to people in their latter years.
However on an evening the entertainment is absolutely dier, maybe it's better in peak season when the hotel is busier but it was terrible while we were there.
Luckily there is a bus stop 100m from the Hotel and you can jump on a bus for €1.40 to Puerto rico or Puerto de Mogan (which is lovely) and the run every 20 mins or so.
All inclusive, so this is where the hotel let's itself down a bit, it's a 4 star all Inc and certainly isn't cheap however I expect a bit more, but maybe I'm being a little harsh, you can decide.
On arrival you can get your beach/pool towels, it's a €20 deposit, no problem it's refundable.
However if you want to change that towel it's costs €1 each time, now i realise its not alot of money but that's not the point, it's just a bit annoying.
The food is decent, sometimes breakfast was a bit disappointing and like all, all Inc they can get a bit boring, but on the whole it was very tasty with a good selection and tbh it hasn't done me any harm eating salad every day for at week.
Drinks
So this is my biggest gripe about the hotel the drinks are terrible.
They offer loads of great drinks but only 1 of each category is included free, everything else you have to pay for.
So the only free beer is amstel, the only free gin is a local one (which was ok tbh)
Anything else you have to pay for
Again this does happen in other all incs but usually there's more choice than 1
Also the prices, if I've paid for an all Inc but have to pay extra for premium drinks you expect them to be discounted so your maybe paying a couple of euros per drink
A Gin Marie at the bar was over €8 and that didn't include the tonic so 2 Gin Marie's cost me over €23
Now im sorry but that's scandalous.
That's more than good pay in a really good bar somewhere.
If the entertainment was better and we drank more in the hotel bar it really would have ruined my holiday
As it was we went out several nights elsewhere where the drinks were cheaper and the entertainment was better
But it still left me quite annoyed.
Not sure I'd stay here again unless it was a reall cheap deal for this reason.

I can not recommend this place enough. From the moment we arrived we loved it. Reception staff were informative and friendly and also spoke great English. The resort is newly renovated, was super clean and even house keeping staff always said a warm hello when walking by. We chose all inclusive and had no problem understanding what was included and what was not (all inclusive is more than enough unless u want top shelf spirits). The food in the restaurant had so much variety with different choices every day and was absolutely delicious and again friendly chefs explaining when I didn’t know what I was looking at lol. The entertainment staff were a lot of fun. They all seemed to speak English, Spanish, German n French so all guests were included and they made the days fun but were not annoying or over powering at all. If I wanted to not be disturbed on my sun-bed they got the vibe and just smiled as they walked by. If the resort is too quiet for you after a day of lazing round the pool it’s an easy €5 taxi to a lovely new shopping centre with bars, restaurants and shops so 2 of our 4 evenings we had dinner at the hotel (cos I wasn’t missing out on that amazing food) and then went there for a couple of hours for some action then returned around 10pm for a couple more cocktails and a dance at the bar before bed. We are already looking at a time we can have another 4 nights there next year.
