Picture postcard view of the lake and the mountains. Really nice, good facilities, good advice on walking routes. Slept in the dormitory; was fairly spacious. Tables for the evening meal were pre-allocated; all solo-travellers were put together; very considerate - or was I just lucky with the company?

The place is just fantastic but you have to deserve it .....after about 90 min walk. Once you are there, the view of the lake and the mountains is just amazing ! You could not dream of a better surrounding to enjoy some typical swiss food. The menu is diversified with (as you would expect) many traditional Swiss cheese dishes,... More

It's been the second time at this cozy altitude hotel / restaurant and for the second time I've had a good experience. The place is located at an amazing crossing of different hikes of the Swiss Alps and it offers different local dishes. I had the rösti and I must say they were a bit too heavy, but tasty. The... It was nice to have our own room, with washbasin, with balcony and with our little dog who was welcome. Facilities are shared, but fine and clean. Staff are friendly. We took the half board option, where dinner is a fixed three course meal. My veggie request had been lost in the email (remember to reconfirm that on arrival), but... More

On a one day outing from Geneva, we hiked up 90 minutes from Van d'en Haut by which time it was lunchtime. As it was pouring down and we were well soaked, a fondue seemed in order. I must agree with Socrate that the fondue may not have been hand prepared with locally made mountain cheese, but it wasn't bad.... More

Me and my brother stayed here 1 night, in a dormitory room, while walking the Tour Des Dents Du Midi. Dormitory rooms and services are what you can expect - good enough. Dinner was great, breakfast was really good. With extra money, they prepared us lunch pack. Staff was really friendly. The location is stunning. Waking up in the morning,... More

We did an in-and-out hike with a one-night stay at the Auberge de Salanfe in September 2014 and would recommend it without necessarily being over the moon about it. We chose this place as we wanted a little two-day getaway from Geneva, and this is one of the closest Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) huts/inns to get to. We stayed in... More

After 1,5 hour hike you'll love a drink or good lunch on the border of this lake. You can sleep there for the rest of your hiking trip, what we like to do next time. It looks a bit Like a school restaurant, but that might be for the evening guests I suppose. The terrasse is nice. Visit the cute... More

Stayed here for one night in the editor. Enjoyed the warm welcome. The dinner was OK, but could be better. They provided us with a very nice Picknick, super! Will certainly come back here, the scenery is fabulous.

We only stopped for a break during a long hike and enjoyed a fabulous home made apricot tarte. We loved the setting (you could not find a better view if you paid it!) and the cake; service was good and people were friendly. We would not mind to go back and spend the night there
