It is located in the village of Wilderswil, not far from Interlaken and the Jungfrau zone (Grindelwald, Wengen, Lauterbrunnen, etc.). We were accommodated in an average quality triple room, with an old bathroom. The hotel is offering a good variety of food for breakfast, and a reasonable Gasthof is available for lunch and dinner. Price is not cheap, for a...

Having stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions our experience this year was that the hotel is sadly understaffed. Breakfasts showed a good selection of cold meats, cereals and fruit, but the trays for hot food were often empty. Although staff were willing to cook fresh for guests it meant a long wait. This was not ideal if...

We concluded a hiking trip with a stay at Hotel Baren in Winderswil. Very quiet town at the foothills of the Alps. The Baren is an old hotel with a friendly staff. Our trip included dinner and breakfast. While very accommodating to adjustments in the fixed menu, as a group we could only give dinner an "ok." Breakfast was more...

This place has the old looks and the old floors that crank when someone steps on them, but yet they have a great breakfast. We were greeted by the staff at the breakfast stand and asked me if I needed help with anything. If you have a family of four, a room fits perfectly for you since there is 2...

We booked this hotel online in June 2014 and then saw a couple of really bad reviews which had us wondering if we should change. However, with little time left until departure, we decided to take our chances and we're so glad we did. The owner, Bernard, was the perfect host and went out of his way to make sure...

We stayed at The Bear Hotel while on a hiking trip last year. Our room was pretty ordinary and tired compared to some accommodation on offer in Switzerland but we had got a good deal so that made up for it. The staff on the front desk were friendly, helpful and supplied a handy, free local bus pass on arrival,...

Excellent service and accommodation. We have been going to this hotel for numerous years and you get a real feeling of a typically swiss hotel with friendly staff. The old style is still there with modern amenities added in. It is a short walk up the road from the station but to save your legs the bus stop is about...

I got this hotel from hotwire by selecting the 3-star hotel option for the Interlaken area for $150 per night. We stayed here for one night on our way to Jungfrau and the Lauterbrunnen area. We arrived pretty late at night and left early the next morning so didn't really spend much time in the hotel. But the staff were...

This hotel is a converted family farmhouse in the middle of Wilderswill near Interlaken. As it is over 100 years old, it has plenty of character, and has been improved over time without spoilng it. The rooms vary in size as you would expect in such a building, but are always clean & comfortable. The Wi-Fi is restricted to the...

We stayed here for one night as part of a road trip. We enjoyed the old charm of the hotel, it was nice to not be in another Ibis or something generic and modern. The restaurant was great, one of the best we ate at in Switzerland. The location is convenient and there is ample parking.
