This was another chance find during touring, we stayed in the Garden Room which was perfect. Julie and Julian were perfect hosts and the breakfast was superb. Highly recommended.

Couldn't have had better food. Breakfasts were delicious as were the scones and tea. It was nice to have our own sitting room, since we were traveling with another couple. Julie and Julian were very helpful and we truly enjoyed our stay in the area, despite the wet weather. The rooms were a bit small in the main house, but...

Our seventh visit to the Old Smiddy, as ever we were looked after wonderfully well, nothing is ever too much trouble for either Julie and Julian. The food is all homemade utterly delicous, our room was extremely comfortable. All in all perfection.

Julie and Julian were so welcoming, we stayed 3 nights during our honeymoon tour of the west coast of Scotland, we were given a bottle of bubbly and freshly baked scones on arrival. We had some fantastic days exploring the area thanks to Julie's local knowledge, nothing was too much trouble. It was like staying with friends. The dinning room...

Julie and Julian's attention to detail is unsurpassed from the home made scones on arrival to the bath rope and slippers. Nothing is to much trouble even a take away breakfast for our unfortunate very early start when we reluctantly had to leave beautiful wester Ross. Fantastic garden room very clean and everything thing we needed was provided. Both the...

From the moment we arrived everything in The Old Smiddy was excellent. Julie and Julian gave us a warm welcome with the offer of tea and homemade shortbread ( which was delicious), even although there were tea and coffee making facilities available in our room. This has never happened to me before and I felt so welcomed by it. We were...

It's a superb B&B. You can tell when the owners enjoy and care about their place and it showed at the Old Smiddy. The attention to detail was much appreciated. It's very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious as well. Only complaint is the uncomfortable beds. Laide and the surrounding towns were absolutely lovely.

My husband and I stayed for two nights at the Old Smiddy Guest House as part of our tour of Scotland in early June this year. We had a wonderful stay and Julie and Julian made us feel really welcome. The situation of The Old Smiddy was ideal and there was loads to see and do, particularly with the advice...
