Getting there is an experience in itself, lol, but once you are there, we did NOT want to leave!! Our "thatched roof huts" made of echo-friendly materials, were amazing! "They are huge, so comfortable, and immaculate! And the entire camp is just BEAUTIFUL. The staff are unbelievable, they are so warm and welcoming. They prepared the most wonderful meals for...

I took 35 students and 6 chaperones to Kigio as part of a school trip. Everything about this place was amazing. The views are unreal. The accommodations are spectacular. The wildlife is all around you. The meals were tremendous. I would return in a heartbeat.

The Kigio Wildlife Camp is one of the nicest tent camps I have ever seen. It is near the RIft Valley Kigio Wildlife Sanctuary and viewing animals is as easy as the drive in and out of the camp. It is an eco camp where they take the ecology of the animals and the area very seriously. The tents are...

May 31, 2011 The potholed track, paved at places with boulders, that leads to the reserve makes one wonder if he has made the right choice in going to the camp. But the torturous 10 odd kilometers off the excellent highway lead you to an excellent experience. We were delighted. The Kigio Wildlife Camp was suggested by our travel agent...

After a long day of mechanical mishaps with our safari vehicle we were greeted with a warm face cloth and a refreshing juice by friendly, knowledgeable staff at the Kigio Wildlife Conservancy. We were led to the dining room (our table candlelit and beautifully set in front of a lit fireplace) and ordered our meals - delicious to the last...

We stayed at Kigio Wildlife Camp with our two small children - 3 and 6 months - for two nights. The first we had the camp to ourselves - and the second a couple other guests arrived. The service was very good and the staff were very willing to accommodate our family - earlier dinner time due to the children...

We unfortunately were only at Malewa Lodge for one night. We arrived in late afternoon after traveling and game driving all day so we had to pass on the night safari. The hut where we stayed, right on the Malewa River was the most beautiful accomdation we enjoyed in all of our travels in Kenya and Tanzania. The room was...

I stayed at the Kigio Eco Camp as part of a recent tour to Kenya. Our group of 20 was accommodated with great hospitality!!! The Accommodations were spacious . . . clean . . . and very well kept. The staff was very attentive to our needs. This open and "unfenced" camp meant that at night we were escorted to...

An hour on the paved highway from Nairobi and another hour jouncing in the red dust along rock and rut tracks through scrubby desert until your teeth are loose--and then trees, and flowers, and generous, curved thatched roofs over soaring beamed interiors, and you are at Kigio Wildlife Camp on the Malewa River. Malewa means drunkard, for the way the...

During the December 2010 x-mas holidays, we visited Kigio Wildlife Camp, nestled in the bushes of a privately owned wildlife conservancy, Kigio Conservancy. I had been looking for a quiet place to unwind, relax and be close to nature during the holidays. However, being the pick season, all places were full, and prices had been hiked. Then on 10th December...
