Great trip down the Kinabatangan river - lots of monkeys, a python and a monitor lizard but seeing a 4m croc had to be the highlight! As did Abai jungle lodge, the food was great and staff were welcoming! Breakfast on the decking was very pleasant - can't beat noodles for breakfast with a riverside view!

We stayed here after staying at Nanga Junpa in Batang Ai Park and what a difference. Junta was the worst experience I have ever had - and I've had a few bad ones, lol. The Riverside Lodge had to be better and it was. The room was fine, nothing special, but it was serviceable and the bed was comfortable. The...

A two and a half hour boat ride down the Kinabatangan river takes you to the Riverside lodge - en route there is a refreshing break at the Abai a jungle restaurant. On the final stretch to the lodge, our boat paused to enable us to witness a herd of 20+ elephants patrolling the riverside. In the early evening a...

This lodge is a prime spot for wildlife spotting down the nearby Menanggul channel - got great views of a wild orang utan here - and the chalets are clean and comfortable with ceiling fans. Food was good and staff friendly and helpful. Earlier comments re "huge upgrade from Abai Lodge seem to miss the point....the standard chalets are pretty...

Having just arrived from S.I.Tours sister lodge Abai (please see previous review) after a good hour's boat ride the lodge looked very similar. As before we were just staying overnight here and checked in to our room. It was marginally less basic than Abai but again I stress that you are not spending all of the time inside the room....

These are simple accommodations and don't expect anything.....but after staying at the Abai Jungle Lodge, this was a huge improvement. Five of their rooms had air conditioning and I had one of them - this made a difference to me as the heat here is enough to make one ill. I was able to sleep at night. Rooms feel more...

We spent two nights here after being at their sister lodge Abai. We had the same guide, Landrico, (Junior) who was excellent. It was busier on the river here than at Abai but still very enjoyable and cruising on the river is very relaxing and a great way to see wildlife.

A pretty basic, yet unforgetable experience of ecotourism our stay at the Lodge was, back in summer 2013. Once settled there you will certainly feel at the heart of Sabah's local jungle and riverside wildlife, and perhaps in the best location ever to discover the very rich animal and vegetal wildlife of the region around the Kinabatangan River. Some useful...

This was probably the most basic of the hotels we stayed in but it was more than adequate. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed although no toiletries are provided so make sure you have shampoo etc. There was no choice at dinner or breakfast but the food was perfectly ok. I wasn't keen on having to wear the provided...

We spent a few days on the River with Lat, our guide from the Kinabatangan River Lodge. It was the most amazing experience we have had. We got so close to the wildlife - birds, snakes, monkeys, crocodiles - we could almost touch them. Lat took us to some wonderfully secluded areas and allowed us so much time to view...
