This motel is one street away from the main street and main trunk railway so that there is the noise of heavy traffic constantly. However it is very handy to good restaurants (a lovely Thai restaurant nearby) and walks to the nearby Ongarue and Whanganui Rivers. The unit is quite old but has been painted and modernised. All linens clean...

A visit to the local tourist office helped us to find this one. Situated off the Main Street and was close to all restaurants and services. Rooms nice and clean and a good kitchen facilities. Very nice reception staff and gave good local information. Would come back.

Very helpful staff - we arrived very late for a funeral the next morning, and they were happy to have after-hours check-in and also brought an iron and ironing board to the room the next morning. Also helped with arranging pick-up and delivery of a computer disk we wanted copied. Rooms basic but very clean. Spa was lovely after a...

Stayed there recently and found good a friendly welcome backed up by clean good value accommodation. Great bed slept well. TV's could be bigger but hey !! Almost next next door is RSA where you can get an excellent inexpensive meal including pizzas I have always bypassed this town pushing on to Te Kuiti but would not hesitate to stay...

Great place to stop on way back from Wellington. Nice and clean, if a little dated, and within walking distance from everywhere. Comfy bed, and included breakfast was a bonus. Will stay there again if passing through

Crap weather made for the need of a room rather than a tent. Comfy bed, Sky TV and a good shower. Breakfast was nothing to scream home about (bag of musli that was ordered in check in) but I weren't too bothered about it. Nice and clean and the lady that checked me was helpful.

The room is always tidy up and everything is there including continental breakfast for a cheap price. The staff/manager are excellent in their customer service. It is also near to restaurants & shops where you can buy what you need during your stay in town.

Booked in here for the night before doing the Timber Trail, and I had to give the review a 'Very Good' as we were really surprised on how comfortable our stay was, from the very friendly welcome on arrival to the nice warm room and comfortable bed. Can be a bit noisy with the road close by and kids running...

We just stayed the night here while attending a family funeral we were greeted warmly (A genuine warmth at that) now I must say we are from a big city and are used to staying at 4-5 star Hotels/Resorts with one of the top floors available whenever we travel overseas so I wasn't expecting a lot I've never stayed at...

Thank you for your review. So often guests only want to comment on the negative things not the positive. We appreciate you spending the time to respond positively. Like you we appreciate and value our staff - we know how good they are.

For a small town MOTEL this place is great! Very welcome and a loving atmosphere. We had come down from Auckland for the night for a funeral I had emailed Anne the morning of us leaving she quickly responded and booked us in. I also asked for an iron and she placed that in the room. When we eventually arrived...
