Super beers super wines super food super service lovely wood fires my steak was Devine but my chair, well, left a bit to be desired, having said that I am a bit "overchaired size " staff were lovely bar patriots very good at recommending a good beer.

We saw The Fleece Inn on a cycle ride around the area. It looked so beautiful. We were attracted by the menu on the website too. We came back a few days later, midweek, with the family (seven of us) for lunch. The inside was as good as the outside suggested! A real roaring fire and cosy parlour awaited us....

If you love historic, traditional, real pubs this is a must visit venue. Absolutely stunning. A national treasure. Nice selection of ales as well. This pub is owned by the National Trust and with little reflection it is obvious that this pub clearly benefits. The priority is the upkeep of the beautiful building and its contents, lots of pewter plate...

We were looking forward to eating here after reading the reviews. On arrival we were shown to the table we had reserved. A very small table which was to accommodate 4 people, I asked could we move to a larger table only to be told by the waiter than a party of five may want that table, I then said...

A fantastic, hidden out of the way country pub. Lovely friendly staff, a great range of beers & superb food. I was staying in the area on business & came here with my work colleagues on three occassions in two weeks. It was great every time.

Great pub in a quintessentially British village. Good range of beers and spirits. Traditional pub fayre without the ping of the microwave! Definitely worth a visit for a drink by the roaring fire or dinner in one of the quirky little rooms.

Came to the fleece fully expecting not to have any need to book for a 'bar' meal. The menu pages on the website suggested that there was a restaurant as well as eating in the bar. Not the case! All tables had been reserved starting at 7pm. This was a special birthday treat and we had travelled a long distance....

A great pub owned and ran by the National Trust. There are beams and nooks and crannies and a range of interesting antiques on display. The day we went there was a group of Australians in there, they were blown away with the atmosphere of the place. The staff are lovely and the food is first class, as are the...

I live locally and we brought our weekend guests here for Sunday lunch. I would have liked to score the Fleece Inn 'excellent' but we did wait far too long for our food, almost an hour. Having said this the food was lovely when it finally arrived and we will definitely recommend it and return there. Tip for restaurant -...
