First, let me say that Safari Lodge was beautiful, the staff was very friendly (thank you Nkosi and Megan) and helpful and the food was excellent, BUT before getting into specifics, don't think that you will see an over abundance of the big 5. There are only a few lions, cheetahs and other big animals on the reserve so I...

We have visited most of the SA national game parks but this was our first stay in a private reserve so were a little nervous on how this would be. We chose Amakhala (3 nights) primarily due to its smaller size and also because the Safari Lodge accommodation looked. I did do a lot of research like probably most do...

A difficult review to write as we are locals and used to wildlife. We partook of the winter special and the first night there was only one couple and the second we had the whole place to ourselves. Firstly let me say the suites are beautifully appointed and the underfloor heating a winner, especially as it was winter, outlook from...
