The accommodation was great, food was great, the people were great, the game drives were amazing and our guide was great as well as we found all of the big five and saw an incredible lion kill.... Highly recommend this place with two game drives and one night.

I can only write something about the day trip, which started at Reed Valley. We were four people and our fantastic guide Hamish. He was fantastic. We started the day with a lunch at Bush Lodge Reed Valley. Great start. After it, we drove the next 2h trough the park and saw giraffes, rhinos and so on. The Amakhala itself... More

came for a day safari, arrived around 10.30 am and sharing our vehicle with an Australian couple. Our ranger Diyan, first showed us some puff adders in a pit and then we headed off. we saw lots of buck, warthogs, giraffe, zebras, also many interesting birds. Diyan stopped also to show us plants, trees and he was both very knowledgeable... More

We came to Amakhala (Reed Valley Inn) as part of our itinerary, planned out by our vacationing lodge we were staying at in the Addo National Park area. Our Amakhala game reserve guided drive was provided by Reed Valley Inn and it was booked as a day trip. We spent the entire day there and were not disappointed. It was... More

Recently, I stayed at Reed Valley. And I'll admit, I was skeptical after reading a "very disappointing" comment on tripadvisor. Boy was I wrong! It is absolutely beautiful. The garden has been newly landscaped and the lodging is clearly newly painted with re-varnished floors. It was super clean and the staff, especially Stacy, are really friendly and helpful. The game drives... More

I was booked to stay at Reed Valley for 3 nights, the place was in no means up to scratch, we were extremely disappointed, after doing so much research into our accommodation. It was so dirty we asked to be moved. I appreciate the authenticity of the lodge, but no room should be unprepared i.e dirty, huge amount of ants... More

My husband and myself and another couple stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a fabulous self-drive holiday, taking in part of the West and East Cape. The staff at the Inn couldn't have been more friendly or obliging. One of our party became very sick (motion sickness/heatstroke -very, very bumpy ride and very hot day!) She was... More

My husband and I stayed at Reed Valley Inn for 2 nights. Saw all the animals apart from Cheetah. Pleasant room but would say more shabby scruffy than shabby chique. The walls could do with a paint, floors very rickerty, glass pane broken on front door (room 3) and scruffy varnish around door and window frames. The front garden and... More

We stayed at The Reed Valley Inn with two friends in February. We took advantage of the 4 nights for the price of three deal. We did 6 of the 8 game drives available and saw an amazing variety of wildlife, including lion, cheetah, rhino, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, jackal, and many types of antelope. Our ranger, Werner, was excellent. We... More
