Shabby chic, yes... We weren't completely sure this place was even open when we walked up to this place, seeking overnight lodging near the train station. We had a clean, quiet, airy room on the 3rd floor with views of the town and a nice bath with plenty of hot water. Onsite parking. Easy walk to train station for Le...

I'm mysfied at other peoples reference to decrepit and smell of dogs. This place is perfectly fine. They have 2 delightful well behaved dogs - get over it people. It was perfectly clean with period country style furniture, pls owners... do not renovate this already perfect historical little place , Who need another souless 5 star boutique fake house with...

Dont bother looking at this one - unless you like smell of dogs and their dodgy owner on a hot summers night ! Rooms look like the Bates motel - eiderdowns must be a 100 years old. You'll be glad to know we found something better in the town itself - see my other review

Other reviewers have said it all - potentially a gem but decrepit and in dire need of renovation. Owner is friendly, location is good, but it resembles the mansion in many horror films.

The auberge certainly doesn't lack character, it would make a tremendous set for a mystery / horror movie. The whole place has an air of faded grandeur, and is generally quite unkempt and rundown. That's a shame, as with some work this could be a great place to stay. There was a bit of noise from the nearby road, but...

We stayed at the Auberge du Cedre and found it to be charming. The host is wonderful, friendly and willing to help with any request. The location is maybe a block and a half down the gravel road from the train station, making it ideal for riding the Little Yellow Train through the Pyrenees. The location is also maybe 2...

My family stayed at Auberge du Cedre for 2 nights. We have twin 10-year old daughters and we got room #10 which had 2 single beds and a double bed. The views from the room are excellent since we can see the mountains and the town ramparts directly from our room. The room was also quite spacious even for the...

While I recommend the medieval walled town of Villefrance to each and everyone, I cannot do the same with Auberge du Cedre, which is right outside the city walls. The place is a bit run down, but it has so much character!!! The building itself must be over hundred years old, family owned (guests can see them go about their...
