The bungalows are extremely basic, old and have lots of holes in the walls and roof (straw and bamboo) and no electricity plug in the room (no wifi either) I stayed a week but didn't feel at home; the 20 or so rooms there were almost completely occupied by longtermers but more of an older age (I'm not even young...

We stayed just for one night, because the hut (for 300 TBH/night) was very dark, the matress was kind of muggy, the mosquito net was dirty, there was no light in the bathroom (so make sure to bring some candles) and there were at least 20 cockroaches in all sizes going into hiding when we came back after dinner or...

This is quite a quirky place! We had a tofu green curry and shrimp with three taste sauce. It's pretty no frills (order in the kitchen, collect your own drinks from the cooler) but food was delicious, and the portions are huge. We were glad we weren't staying as it looks quite basic and a bit rundown, and we prefer...

A hidden hideaway. The most beautiful, friendly and trusting of 'staff' (more like family). Wonderful beach with very few people on it. Gorgeous food and drinks from the restaurant. Great exploring on the island. Excellent noise coming from the pack of dogs in the night (didn't give humans a second glance). Some interesting guests to meet, including 'long-timers!. Plenty of...

Bo Daeng is the place to hang out on koh jum. Dila, the owner, is such a lovely and nice person and welcoms all her guests with so much love. Her sister nari is working in the kitchen and the food is really good and big portions. Sometimes they also have fresh fish directly from the sea i.e. barracuda available...

We visited Bo Daeng restaurant twice during our stay at Koh Jum and this place is simply incredible. Very nice people and a lot of interesting people staying in the bungalows. We can highly recommend a visit to this fantastic restaurant. Order a thai dish, a sandwich, a juice, a shake, everything is fresh and well prepared. And at prices...

I had to pick a date, but we actually stayed here in 2007 at Christmas! It was such a nice time. The owner Dila and her staff are very friendly, we had some great 4 days, spent just relaxing with a book, snorkeling, walking on the beach, meeting locals and other guests, enjoying the nice and at that time cheap...

Like everyone says, this place is awesome. Not expensive, luxury, or polished but cheap, fun, and a lot like camping. Great for beach combers- there are some beautiful shells that wash up! But I had issues with the shower. It's the opposite of fancy, read: it is a open air concrete box and the "shower head" was a thin pvc...

“My room...er, hut... was right on the beach! It was the one closest to that little bar next to the main dinning area. But there was a bit of an ant problem. They crawled right into the bed, through the mosquito net. Maybe a previous guest kept food in the hut? Also make sure your hut is not beside the power generator as it can be noisy.”

“Beachfront rooms are generally hard to come by as there are always a few longtermers around. If you want the better rooms you have to "do your time" and wait for one to open up.”
