Let me first say that my budget doesn't normally stretch to a Mercure but on this occasion the advanced booking discount brought this hotel in Brive down to my level. I was very much looking forward to my bit of luxury on a Sunday night in late September but it never quite manifested itself. We arrived about 6pm and the...

This is a good hotel in a quiet secluded location and yet close to the A20 motorway. Both the accommodation and food were good and with an open air pool it made for a relaxing stop. If I were to stay longer in this area this hotel would fit the bill.

Large and attractive grounds with a pool; very comfortable, bright and handsome rooms at a very reasonable €95; welcoming staff; and good food. One slightly odd feature was the probably very expensive floor to ceiling sheets of plate glass in the restuarnat. Form rather than function, it seems Breakfast was particularly impressive: excellent ingredients locally-sourced where possible, and probably the...

We spent three nights here as we wanted secure parking and also it has a pool. The building itself is plain from the outside but lovely inside and the park, pool and pool area are just delightful. It is also close to the autoroute and only a 10 min drive from the centre of Brive. The staff are just delightful- really...

As always I value the basics the most: if those are good, I have a good stay. Bed: 90cm x 210cm!! very good. Blanket: >200cm covering me from head to toe: great!!! Bathroom: very nice, with separate toilet. Unfortunately our fist chamber had a toiletpot which was not well attached to wall, creating a scary shaky experience when seated. But...

My wife and I arrived here on a hot afternoon after a long drive ready for a pleasant overnight stay. The reception we got was somewhat underwhelming. One member of staff did smile and found our reservation quickly, but smiles were evidently being rationed that week. Our room was rather tired looking, but clean and with a comfortable bed which...

In amongst trees, looking retro but modern inside. we were a little disappointed that it was way out of Brive but the website did say this. We took the Harley out again and had a little ride around the town returning to eat in the hotel. Food was good and staff were helpful.

“Noise: if you close the windows it is very silent, my room was facing the parking, and with a window open for fresher air, there was a lot of noise from some ventilation unit downstairs. I recommend a room on the other side of the building.”
