During our last trip in October, we decided to book a trip for my birthday in December. The package was a back massage & facial with festive afternoon tea for a party of 3. At the time of booking my Mum asked if she could have a pedicure instead of the massage & facial which the receptionist made a note of. On arrival the day of our trip we filled out or COVID forms and went to afternoon tea. We were happy to see that there were sanitising stations at every door. At afternoon tea there were us and a party of 2 however it took 45 mins for the food to arrive. We were confused as to why it took so long as it was pre booked and a set menu so they knew what we wanted. My mum had to chase someone up in reception as our treatments were 30 minutes away. Thankfully the food came within 5 minutes and we were offered some free drinks. We went to our treatments and I had an amazing back massage and facial from Lois. I’ve been to a lot of spas and many trips to the suites and Lois is one of the best therapists I’ve had. Following my treatment I went into the relaxation room where I met up with my party. My mum told me that her therapist took her into a massage room - obviously the note from reception about the pedicure wasn’t communicated! Thankfully someone was able to do the pedicure. A few days prior to our trip my sister rang and asked if she was able to have her massage on her side as she had a c section in august so was unable to lie on her stomach. (We knew this would be possible as in September she led on her side for a back massage at the suites). The lady on the phone said it would be fine. However her therapist on this trip said she wasn’t aware she had a c section and felt uncomfortable performing it on her side and instead offered a scalp massage. (Again the reception team not communicating properly!) Thankfully my sister preferred to have the scalp massage. It was a lovely trip and we will be back of course but I just wish the communication between reception and the therapists was better as this has happened a few times.

Had a lovely day at the spa. Lovely lady’s on reception and felt so welcome soon as we came through the doors. I had the best massage off Nikki and my partner enjoyed his massage of Lois. Beautiful and relaxing inside. Really enjoyed our day. Would definitely recommend! Thankyou so much.

All staff are very accommodating, friendly and attentive. The spa is very clean and over all, a very relaxing atmosphere. The only thing that lets it down is that the swimming pool and jacuzzi aren’t actually in the spa but near the hotel reception. This is a minor point however and I will definitely be returning.

Spacious rooms obviously well appointed with good quality furnishings when built. Very clean - I stay in a lot of the chain hotels and even relatively new builds don't clean properly (behind loo door, shower screen etc). This place obviously have decent cleaning regime and keen maintenance. However, some aspects of the décor around the place need updating. The pool is a good size. Sauna and steam room decent size - not the usual garden shed size things you often find. Jacuzzi good but like the décor a bit dated and in need of an update. Given the current situation I'm amazed they can sustain their business - all staff were polite and attentive. Very welcoming. Breakfast was okay - not brilliant - table service only (service was fine). I'm guessing under normal circumstances it's buffet style which is preferable. Again not going to gripe as I'm glad they're still open! Covid measures very prominent and welcome. Only one or two guests seemed to take no notice - they looked fit and well so can't see any good reason why they didn't wear a mask. You can't fix stupid people. 5 stars based on really superb value for money, good size rooms, spa facilities and good staff.
