A wonderful place to stay for the night while we were walking the limestone way. A warm welcome into a cosy farmhouse kitchen, our hideously dirty boots and waterproofs were kindly put to dry so we felt like we’d arrived with friends not as guests. A beautifully comfy room with everything you could want along with a view down the village. Breakfast was simply gorgeous with David’s homemade bread being sublime. We can’t recommend this highly enough

Our 2 night stay here was close on perfect! On a practical basis the room was clean, comfortable, bright and well equipped but it was also decorated with just the right number of finishing touches to make it feel like a real home from home for a couple of days. The hosts are friendly and informative and gave us excellent advice to make the most of our one full day to explore. The breakfasts are very, very good. Lovely choice, homemade bread and preserves and poached eggs spot on. The availability of a fully equipped guest kitchen really makes Townhead stand out from the erst though. Reakky appreciated being able to come back and just stick a pizza in the oven instead of having to eat out all the time. Would highly recommend.

A very friendly warm welcome. A good size comfortable room with lovely views over the garden. A delicious home cooked breakfast, with plenty of fresh bread and refills of tea or coffee. I would definitely recommend.

We have just returned from 2 nights at The Townhead Farmhouse just on the outskirts of Matlock. A wonderful stay, a warm welcome from David, we were shown to room 6, lovely comfy double bed with lovely decor, a small shower room with plenty of toiletries, tv, tea and coffee facilities. We pre ordered breakfast and the time of breakfast the night before, excellent breakfast, fruit juice, cereals, fruits, full English cooked with local produce, the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon was delicious. Finished off with home made bread and preserves. There was an added bonus of use of a small lounge and kitchen area. Lots of walks from the farmhouse and 2 excellent pubs within walking distance. Great location we will definitely be returning. Thank you David and Caroline.

So glad to have come back. Shame we couldnt bring the weather. Caroline is so kind and accommodating, lovely breakfast and room, and booked again already. For an hour down the road it's a world away. Think this will be a regular thing. So kind to even put the heating on (yep, it's August) and we could use the day room ad a lounge so we could all sit together instead of in our rooms

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful farmhouse which was full of character. A very warm welcome greeted us when we arrived tired and very wet after a long day walking the Limestone Way. It was the perfect stopover on the walk. The room was just perfect full of olde worlde charm. It was spotless, had a great shower and very comfy beds. The quirky local pub was great for our evening meal and we thoroughly enjoyed a delicious breakfast before we left. Caroline and David were wonderful hosts, very relaxed, attentive and shared a wealth of local information which was very helpful. As we left refreshed, replenished and with boots dried by the Aga!!, we were sorry not to be able to have stayed a few more days. Marie and Patsy

We enjoyed a very comfortable three night stay at this lovely B&B. Warm, friendly welcome. Plenty of information on the local area. Top-notch breakfast using quality local produce. Very comfortable bed! Our room was nice with a compact bathroom. Plenty of hot water. Small lounge and communal kitchen area available to guests which is great. Also, lovely outdoor area to sit in when the weather's good. Both pubs in the village serve decent pub grub and are within easy walking distance. Nice walks in the area and within easy striking distance of Bakewell and Chatsworth House. Matlock Bath very close by. Thank you Caroline and David.

A great location, with proper country walks from the doorstep – and two brilliant pubs just a few minutes away. The rooms are cosy and quirky. There’s a lovely lounge area to sit and chill in after a long day’s exploring the area. The hosts are friendly and full of helpful tips and info. There’s also the added benefit of endless entertainment from the two resident dogs! The breakfasts are brilliant – with lots of choice and all served up perfectly. Highly recommended.
