The room was very nice and clean, with coffee and tea on room, and staff was friendly, and location is very nice, you can find a lot of place where to drink your coffee or your beer, i hope to have chance to come back.

This was a great motel. Didn't realise that I had booked a room with a shared bathroom but was able to upgrade . We had a lovely room with ensuite. Only thing that was missing was a seated area with tables for the evening as it was very hot in the room and would have been great outside.

As someone else has written in the room tips this place should not be trusted with credit card details!! Booked full price for two nights and cancelled 1 month in advance. They took the money for the room even though we had cancelled both verbally and through email. Upon confronting the manager in a lengthy visit to the hotel he...

We attended a wedding at Clearwell Castle on Saturday and booked the Deansgate Motel as it was reasonably priced and near to the Castle. We were really pleased with our stay. Extremely clean, comfortable and contemporary room. Best pillows ever, so soft. Chap at reception really helpful and even lent me a charger for my mobile. If we are ever...

It wasn't just that the shared bathroom was grotty and smelt of mould but the bed, dear God!, It was unbearably lumpy and felt like the springs were almost coming through and the pillows were as thin as after dinner mints! Come on guys you could do better. However, the harbour at Lydney is lovely and the cafe in the...

The first thing I noticed about the Deangate Motel was the sign in the photo has lost its 'e' and 'a'. This is never a good sign, as it shows a lack of maintenance and an unwillingness to spend money keeping a place up to standard. That being said, the rooms were fine, and the proprietor was friendly and welcoming....

Hotel was fine for a overnight stay. We stayed in the economy room, which was a good price. The room was clean and fresh. For one night it was fine. The only problems we had where the room had not lock on the door when you left it, also when you open the door it opens directly into the hall...

Stayed here 1 night. It was a very friendly place and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. Room was really clean as was the bedding and towels. Would definitely stay here again. Lydney itself is a lovely market type town and there are lots of attractions within easy reach from this motel

This motel is conveniently located (on the A48) for those traveling to the Forest of Dean. The motel was room (superior) was spacious and comfortable The manager (?) Mr Singh was very helpful. It is a short walk to Aylburton (20 mins) where there are two good pubs/restaurants which we preferred to the ones in Lydney. Although for a curry...

I booked a single room at this Motel through Expedia on March 28th for a three night stay from April 13-16th 2016. I read on the web site that my card details were taken to confirm the room, and that no money would be taken at time of booking....so I was surprised to see that full payment of £117 had...
