What a fabulous place. Very spacious rooms, real hot water and good shower facilities. The hotel is luxurious but like a step back in time. The grounds looked beautiful but sadly because of our itinerary, we were only here overnight and gone again by early morning. Would certainly recommend

This is an Indian heritage hotel being a former palace, low budget change over from prior use so dont expect 4 star luxury. An interesting lobby to start your stay, also has interesting grounds which have a museum effect with old car etc housed in what may be former stables. The pool and immediate surrounds lack appeal. Bit of an... More

We stayed here on a group tour. As detailed in all the other reviews this is a very interesting place to stay. So rather then repeat what is already detailed I will list some other items. They do not accept credit cards. You have to turn on the hot water service in your room half an hour before you use... More

This heritage property was fabulous. The rooms were authentic and even the odd power outage cannot take the smiles of our faces. The grounds and the history are beautifully maintained at this property and the staff all seem very proud to be there. A highlight on our tour.

We stayed there on our tour of India. We had a lovely triple room - in fact three/four rooms. It was clean and lovely to have a day bed outside the room to relax on overlooking the courtyard. The shop was reasonable and we were able to get Hena done there. The Prince and Princess who live there were delightful... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the journey from Jaipur to Karauli & arriving at the grounds to the palace was stunning & grand - so far away from the city congestion, hustle and bustle. I must say it was a bit bizarre waiting for the room in the grand entrance surrounded by large large stuffed animals and interesting furnishings. It felt like... More

Arriving hot, sweaty and crumpled at Bhanwar Vilas Palace I immediately felt a bit uncomfortable when we were ushered into a very grand room complete with stuffed man-eating tiger to await our audience with the Prince. Apparently the Maharaja himself was out of town but his wife, son and daughter in law were all in residence. We had a welcome... More

Thank you so much for that very entertaining review! We're so glad you managed to get over your culture shock and have a comparatively good time, despite the awkward conversations! The water in this area has a fairly high mineral content which accounts for a whitish layer sometimes, so please be assured it's not unsafe. Do visit us again soon... More

This Art Deco palace is an historic Jewel in Rajasthan's crown. Beautifully furnished, atmospheric rooms, with generous bathrooms and glorious grounds, staying here brings you face to face with all that is " the Raj", past and present. The current royal family, whose members you will likely meet, are doing much to preserve the rich history and guide local tourism... More

Thank you so much for such a detailed review and for a wonderful conversation during your stay. As you said Bhanwar Vilas is a vibrant, living museum where you enjoy antique artefacts and furniture by actually using them and staying amidst them rather than simply seeing them behind glass cases. We're also glad you enjoyed a visit to our organic... More
