A truly magical place tucked away in nature, but with all the luxuries of the western world. Excellent food, large portions and a very fair price considering the remote location (88km to the market). Lao staff are extremely well trained, professional and very accommodating (very very rare in Laos). Rooms are very clean and are maintained to a high standard (all rooms come with a sublime view as standard). A large range of activities and information is offered on site. An outstanding example if what can be achieved in Laos with a little vision, investment and hard work. If you visit Laos, DO NOT MISS OUT! Make a journey to Spring River Resort.

We stayed during the recent school holidays. An easy 6 hour drive from Vientiane, the resort is set right along the majestic Hinboun River. We stayed in a riverside bungalow with private bathroom. The room was simple but clean and very comfortable. The bed is a bit too hard for my liking and the pillows too soft. However that aside, it was beautiful to sit on the balcony and just listen to the bird chirpping away. The resort offered free kayaks during our stay and we were ablt to take these to visit the nearby Lagoon - absolutely amazing. The owners were super friendly and more than happy to assist in organizing activities around the area. The location is tucked away on a small private road. Not much around... Even with a car. We ate at the resort and the food is of very high quality and pricing very good considering where we were. The resort also offers great wifi - streaming you tube was not an issue. Will definitely be back.

We stayed there whilst travelling Laos from south to north in February 2020 and were amazed by this place. Great food, friendly staff and outstandingly beautiful location. Strongly recommend rooms overlooking the river. Sit on top kayaks for hire.

Fantastic! You must book in advance because it is popular. If you just show up, the bus leaves and there is no room, you will have a long walk back to a village (potentially in the dark). You really feel like you’re getting the jungle experience. The resort has green foliage everywhere with boardwalks throughout. We stayed in a bungalow not on the river so there are shared bathrooms (clean and not an issue!). The bungalows are small but very nicely done and extremely clean. Note that they are close to each other with no insulation so not a lot of privacy. The bar closes at 8:00 p.m. and there is not a bar fridge in these bungalows, but you can bring drinks back to your place to sit on the veranda and enjoy the night sounds. Highly recommend taking the water taxi (which is the long boat with a motor) to and from the cave. So enjoyable watching the scenery and life of the locals. Food is delicious and a lot of options. The power went out in the evening (very rare), but it just added to the experience. Kayaking around the "blue lagoon" was amazing too. You really feel like you're in the jungle! Thomas, is awesome. So helpful and knowledgeable. He answered at least 5 emails from us with questions regarding travel to and from the resort. He is also very eco minded with this resort and the entire valley. Highly invested in preserving this extraordinary area. A highlight of our 2 month stay in SE Asia.

Beautiful property, wonderful and friendly staff. We paid the extra for the river view and it was well worth it! Lovely room, private bathroom (the other rooms had shared washrooms) and peaceful view of the river and jungle. We arrived at dark due to a bus breakdown and walked from the main road (1.3 km). Staff welcomed us, we had time to eat a lovely dinner and stayed two nights. Could have stayed longer. It is small so staff go home at 8 pm. But bar fridge is stocked and same price as restaurant so you can still get drinks and snacks after hours. The restaurant was very reasonably priced so we just ate our meals here. Food was excellent! There’s not much in the village. Some people walked to the cave from the resort (2.5 km) but the staff called a songtow for us. Highly recommend this place!!
