Firstly I have to say we booked this resort through luxury Escapes, we got dudded big time by this organisation. We arrived to find that our booking was via Expedia and all that we were to receive was non exist ant and we got breakfast and no more. This resort never does just breakfast with luxury Escapes.
Initially things were quite frosty when we found our booking was messed up but Alpine worked with us to attempt to rectify the situation which included contacting Australia. All to no avail, brilliant customer service. Alpine and Mikka at the front of house made everyone feel welcome. Fa the little girl in the restaurant was great as well.
The resort had been closed for quite some time and there were cosmetic things that needed doing but just mention it a work was done. The rooms are large, well designed and with everything that you need including a coffee machine.
If people are traveling to khaoLak and looking for a place to stay in the area where you can kick back and totally relax this is the place for you.

I am writing from the resort, sitting on our nice porch. It is our second stay here, and it is as close to paradise as it can get around here. The resort is very quiet with amazing gardens and a very nice swimming pool. The little restaurant serves Thai and Western food and ice cold drinks. Scooters can be rented here as well, for an easy way to get around.

The bungalows are very spacious, with aircon and fan, comfortable bed and a little kitchen where you can fix your own meals. Big fridge, kettle, and dinnerware included. You get cable TV and DVD players. DVD movies and books can be borrowed from John and Pam the owners of the resort. Each room has its own safety box.

As mentioned in other reviews, are the owners great people and very helpful. Whatever problem or request you may have, they will try to sort it out for you. Now they do run a music bar up the road with live music that is not too loud and excellent Thai and Western food for reasonable prices.

This was our first time at John and Kaews resort and we loved it.
The service was excellent and personally, the owners are very nice and they made the feel, that you are at home.

Location is near Bang Saray "city",about 2 hours from Bangkok with local taxi(ordered by the owner of Bang Saray Village Resort),about half an hour south of Pattaya.
If you want to see the real Thailand, this is a place for you,not too much turists and so on.We rent a bike, from the owner and with that we drived everywhere. We found a very nice beach, about 8 km.s from the resort.Bang Saray beach is also nice and it is nearby.
In Bang Saray it is enough of restaurants and you can buy glasses here. From the "street" you can buy your lunch(springrolls, fish, corn, fruits and so on).....NICE.

The bungalows are very nice and the bed is comfortable. You can make your own breakfast,if you want but you can order it and eat it in a nice bar.The resort area is a small paradise, with a big enough swimmingpool.Nice,nice.......

Thank you John and Kaew, you made our 30.th honeymoon unforgettable:)

We stayed here in December and was very disappointed. These bungalows definitely need updating, the bathrooms and kitchen sinks do not have any hot water. The racks where you put your toiletries are all rusty and the whole bathroom is very grubby and terrible smells at times from somewhere. The furniture in the bungalows is very old and has holes in it. You could not sleep at night due to the dogs barking continually. Most of the sun beds are broken and the pool was not cleaned at all in one week.

Just 20 min south of Pattaya Bang Sare offers a trip back in time to uncrowded beaches and a real tast of coastal Thailand, the resort offers a tranquility hard to find in the region,John is an extremely helpful and acomodating host, and the staff are very friendly and helpful, the bungalows are well set out and private with a fantastic pool, and amenities. We had a wonderful experience there and are looking forward to returning ASAP.

I'v stayed at this resort 3 times since 2009 !!!!!!!!! John is a great host and will do anything to help you!!!!! The pool is great and very relaxing. If you want to walk to the beach its only about 15 minute walk or you can rent a scooter from the resort. The grounds are lush and always blooming with flowers. I hope to return in January 2013 and this will be where I stay!!!!!!!!!!!

We booked 4 bungalows for the 30th and 31st of July 3 weeks in advance, after this was confirmed over the phone we were told to pay the deposit into their bank account to which they gave us the account number and total amount to paid. This deposit was paid on the same day as making the bookings and we in return called them back to confirm the bookings and that we had paid the deposit for the 4 bungalows.
On the morning of the 30th we all arrived at the resort 8 of us in total only to be told the we had only booked 2 bungalows and not 4. When we asked them then why did we have to pay such a big deposit if we only wanted 2, not one of the staff could give us an answer and were all running around like headless chickens not knowing what to do or say, by the way the owner was not even there. Any way this resulted in 4 of us now having to look for alternative accommodation in bang saray. We left the other 2 couples at that resort to go look for other accommodation and later came back to the resort to see the other friends of ours we left there, When we asked the manager who had eventually arrived at the resort and was sitting at the bar if we could buy beers his response was very rude and abrupt, and told us No, he cant sell any, we then asked him if we could bring our own beers in, and his response to this was F you no you cant and that we should F off. If this is the treatment that he is going to dish out to customers and friends then that sealed it for us there and then never ever to go back to such a place where you get verbally abused by the owner, the staff don't know what they are doing, and are unfriendly, by the way this is the second time we have had problems at this resort, and will never recommend this place to our friends again.
If you thinking about staying at this resort think really hard about it and read all the other comments.

Response from John G, Owner at Bang Saray Village Resort
Responded 27 Jul 2016
You initially booked and paid the appropriate deposit for TWO rooms. At a later date you telephoned for two more rooms and were told that we were full up. however you and your party turned up on the day, a strict Budda day, expecting to drink all day and all night, even expecting to go out and buy drink to drink in my restaurant. We are a quiet, peaceful resort and we were happy that they moved on.

Recently stayed with my wife and 12mth old baby for 4 nights. Was in Bang Saray visiting a friend who recommended this place. Unfortunately was fully booked the first night so had to stay opposite. Our 4 nights here were fabulous, it's not a big hotel or resort, I'd guess about 10 houses stilts, but if they are the same as we stayed in, are very nice. Each one is kinda separated from the other by palm trees so feels private. Lovely pool and nice comfy bed. Have to say that I am every impressed withe the staff. Received a call about 2 hrs after checking out to say that I had left my Nikon d3200 in a drawer ( after I was told by my wife to double check the room) really nice to see honest staff. I am an honest reviewer and if it's crap I'll say so. I liked this place and will recommend to my friends. Hopefully the gym and sauna Is up and running soon.

We spent four days in Bang Saray, it was lovely. The staff were so accommodating, the pool area is beautiful, well maintained and quiet. There is a bar/restaurant at the end of the pool and this was great to have lunch or breakfast at. The bungalows are all wooden, and are a basic bungalow, one bedroom, table chairs, small kitchen with a good sized fridge and a small stove, but like someone else commented, why would you bother cooking anything with the prices of food in Thailand, in particular this area where the seafood is so fresh and so close. We hired a scooter from John (the owner) and this was great, we were able to get around and go visit places like Pattaya. Bang Saray itself is a lovely little village full of food stalls and shops. We would highly recommend anyone who wants to get out of Bangkok to a true piece of Thailand, come here, its really peaceful and just lovely. John gave us a lift to his music bar up town, the bar offers big screen tellies with sports on them, which we loved as we are NRL and Union fans, there is a pool table and they have live music some nights. The food in the restaurant is almost the same as the menu from the resort. But they will accommodate if you want something different. The resort village has 6 or 8 bungalows so is a small resort, but we just loved this - no over crowding. Overall, we would come back again and would recommend to anyone....Only negative was the bed was way too hard for me and the Wifi was terrible, but this was typical of wifi all over Thailand.
