The hotel staffs had been standing waiting in front of the hotel before our arrival. Our names were checked on their tablet while in our car. After entering the hotel, we were led to the sofa for check-in, with hot towels, dried persimmons and the...More

Hi there ....from Tokyo Shinjuku you need to take the JR line (covered by JR pass if applicable for you) to Otsuki and change to private line FUJISAN VIEW EXPRESS 5 (not covered by JR pass but minimal fee). The FUJISAN VIEW EXPRESS 5 takes you directly to Kawaguchiko which is the final station where your train journey to Kozantai Ubuya hotel ends. If I remember correctly from my trip back in May; there are two type of trains ...express and local...we took the local train (stopping at many villages which we actually liked) wich took about 1 hour whereby the express takes about 40 minutes. Kawaguchiko is a very small Station and the hotel transfer vans/cars are easy to be found outside and you can gomtomthe Info tourism counter and they even call the hotel for you. However....!!!.....You must be careful about your arrival time at Kawaguchiko station as the hotel only provides certain pick time times which I do not remember. FYI we arrived outside their free shuttle time so we took a taxi at the station and it took only 10 minutes to get to the hotel and we paid little. The hotel is not far from the station but cannot walk. On our departure we used the free hotel shuttle.
Enjoy the nice views of Mount Fuji ...specially early morning! Wishing you a nice stay and cloud free days!
