From our experience there were walks/trails accessible from the property. The hotel staff were also able to assist in organising return transport to further locations for hiking, but taxis in Mauritius are generally quite pricey. Having said that, we found ourselves in the back of a local's vehicle one day, who kindly gave us a lift back from one place we were walking. We actually ended up hiking less than we originally planned to, not because the trails weren't accessible, but because the hotel and surrounding area were both tranquil and beautiful. Free shuttles to the beach also proved useful. Hope this helps!

Hi we were in a remote room but that was our choice. They have rooms that are next door to the main amenities ( pool, restaurant etc) but I'd say that if your husband has a mobility problem, maybe lakaz might not be the right place. That said, if he doesn't mind being ferried around, I'm sure the staff would be happy to take him around in the buggy!
