Senja is just such a beautiful island & this hotel (almost like a small resort) is in an idyllic location.
We stayed for 3 nights & treated ourselves to a one bedroom suite. They are like small apartments with a living/kitchen/dining space together with a...More
From being picked up at Finnsnes it was all a great experience, everyone so friendly & helpful. First class accommodation with such a great view. Nice choices in the restaurant & nice to be able to get hot drinks as required. We really enjoyed seeing...More
With open skies, a half moon and a perfect viewing location (the Lighthouse) we had 3 nights of ever building Northern Lights culminating in 10 minutes of unique, dancing and multicoloured lights. This has little to do with the resort and our opinion of it,...More

We had a rather mixed stay there. The room was okay - but the blinds are horrible! If you happen to stay not on the bay view room but in a room faced to the walking way better take something to cover your eyes with....More

Thank you for taking time to write us a detailed feedback, we truly appreciate this. We are very sad to hear that your stay was not as good as expected, and we are really embarrassed to hear about the snowshoeing tour.
This review is written by two local people, who tried out Hamn for the first time yesterday. We stayed in a suite.
Location vise, Hamn i Senja probably has the best hotel view on the island. Overall impression of the area is very good, and...More

How many people are traveling with you? If you need more than one room I would book an apartment. They have 3 bedrooms with bathrooms which each have their own key and a main area with a kitchen and living room that everyone uses. If you just need one room, I’m not sure it’s worth it to book the apartment. We went in September and the hotel wasn’t fully booked and we had an apartment to ourselves for four people. I’m not sure how busy the hotel is in February. It sounds like they have breakfast and dinner year round, you just have to make reservations. When we went in September the dinner was a set three course meal. You might also try emailing the hotel and seeing what they recommend. They were helpful with the questions I had regarding rooming. The whole area around the hotel is beautiful so I don’t think you can make a bad choice.

As some others have mentioned here, it is quite far to drive from Tromsø to Hamn i Senja. It is possible for us to pick-up at the airport, but the fastest and most convenient way to get to Senja is with Hurtigbåt from Tromsø to Finnsnes. You would then take the airport bus to the pier in Tromsø, and then take the boat from there. The boat ride is only around 1 hour and 20 minutes. We can then offer pick up from Finnsnes, which is less than a one hour drive from Hamn.
Time schedule for the boats can be found on tromskortet.no.
Hope this was helpful!
