We arrived after midnight with no suitcases but in this smaller hotel, Dr Koch waited up for us with the friendliest of welcomes. He also provided a great dinner, drinks and what blew me away - toothpaste and toothbrushes. It could not have been a warmer, friendlier or kinder start to a holiday. We stayed for over a week and really enjoyed the location right next to the ski lift, the charm of Ladis and the convenience of the hotel. The spa has a huge variety of options plus a pool. As for the food, it was always spot on. It is locally sourced, eggs are free range and ethical. The breakfasts, afternoon tea and dinners were perfect. Dinner was a multi course experience with an extensive salad bar, soup, starters, mains and dessert plus a great wine menu. This is a truly phenomenal place though Dr Koch is the magic which makes this hotel so special.

This is an excellent hotel. Very obviously a lot of money has been spent on recent refurbishment and the result is a hotel that oozes class, sophistication and style. It is enhanced by some intriguing and attractive modern art and tends to the minimalist. From the management downward all staff are superb - friendly, polite and attentive. They simply cannot do enough for you. The hotel is spotlessly clean, bedrooms are large, warm and comfortable. Food is plentiful and well presented although main courses are a tad over elaborate with conflicting flavours on the same plate. A highlight of the day is afternoon tea comprising delicious soups, wurst and excellent cakes. The hotel is ideally located. Not strictly ski in, ski out but almost. A 100 metre walk to the gondola up to the main slopes at Fiss and just 50 metres to the ski rental - who were very helpful. Ski right back to about 30 metres from the front door. The hotel offers plenty of underground parking and Ladis is easy to reach from the main road up a steep climb from Ried. I recognise some of the criticisms although they are unfair. This is a small hotel with about 30+ rooms. The ski room is tiny but with so few people it was never a problem for us and the individual ski lockers are large and heated. The spa is also smallish but more than adequate for low numbers. If I had one criticism of my own it is that style has triumphed over coziness and charm. The bar is a bit stark and not especially inviting for an evenings relaxing. It is also located in the lobby which makes it more workmanlike than cosy. My wife’s comment was that it lacks a woman’s touch and with a few small adjustments this could be a truly outstanding hotel. We were impressed and hope to return next year.

Very limited grounds, the hotel is very closed to the other buildings/hotels, no chance to turn your car if some others cars are in front of hotel, narrow drive to the hotel. A ski room is comic small-just two people can put on shoes at the same time, no lobby - rather porter´s room, indirect access to some rooms from a lift - you have to carry your luggage up the stairs. In our room was some cabinet instead of a normal writing desk, you can not sit at this - pls see a photo. A small bathroom. A restaurant is also small but cosy, a foot was average, stewed fruit for a breakfast were unappetizing, sweets were nothing should be eating. The man at reception desk greets his guests sometimes only, also by reason of this we missed a pleasant feeling in this house. Good things in this hotel - pleasant and quick service in a restaurant, a cleanness every place, the hotel is close to a funicular to Fiss to the ski slopes. But in my opinion it is much better to stay in Fiss or Serfaus, then you do not have to travel every day by funicular to reach the ski slopes.
