The hotel is in a very nice place with lots to do in the area looks well cared for
We had a family room
Actually everything is fine but it certainly lacks sockets next to the bed and it is much too hot .an air conditioning or fan is not a luxury
Restaurant was changing
We have been there for 6 days where 4 days the desserts were not replenished..but many seniors already take a plate of desserts before they even eat so that was the problem with us
Breakfast was also 4 days the omelette and many sandwiches on
We arrived at 9am and nothing was refilled
But nevertheless we have had a nice time
Pool and wellness are really top

In itself a nice stay, but with significant compromises on the subject of gastronomy/half board. Announced was a 3-course menu with vegetarian option, in reality there was the same daily offer of salad/soup from
Buffet, then a cheap meat dish with fries and as a veg. Alternative daily pasta. No vegetable side dishes, no high-quality meat, no creativity or sophistication. The served fries and pasta variants were all purchased convenience products, salads at the buffet evenso. The highlight (in the negative sense) were the unambiguously few purchased and thawed cake slices, which were lined up daily in 2 variants as a ‘dessert buffet’ on two small plates. It’s a real pity that Hierf is quite obviously hardly cooked himself and the guests are ‘fed off’ as cheaply as possible.

Very nice hotel. Simple Austrian style rooms but, comfortable beds and excellent staff. Food is good, breakfast buffet is good, and their bar is also great. Nice quite Austrian hotel with great service and simple rooms.

We stayed here for the Austrian GP. We have stayed here before and had forgotten just how wonderful it is.
Rooms are extremely clean and modern. The reception areas are typically austrian. The foods is outstanding.
The wine is wonderful all very good value. All staff are friendly and helpful.
Use the local bus to get to gratz it takes about 40 mins. The city is beautiful with lots of shops. !!

Bery basic. Room lacking space. There was no socket to plug in the phone's charger in the room. Had to use the one in the bathroom.
Windows looked out over roofing. Woken up at dawn by smell of cooking from the kitchen. It's ok for an overnight stay but nothing longer. Even the beautiful surroundings don't make up for what is lacking.

Booked this hotel for the red bull motogp weekend as iy eas reasonably priced and not to long a drive but the A9 tunnel was undergoing work so added an 45 minutes yo the journey but thats not the hotels fault. The rooms are comfortable with tv and balcony I could hear the next bathroom in the next room I think the walls are thin . The food was good but it stops serving early and the staff are polite and friendly but overall I would stay here again

We visited the tratternhif hotel last weekend fir the F1 grand prix. On approach you thunk ut us too far out of tge small town but ince there u are surrounded by stunning views peace and quiet. The hotel is traditional as u enter ouzibg with character. Once in your bedroom you are suddenly back in the 21 century with modern shower and comfortable beds. The staff we all extremist helpful from the young girl behind the bar who helped us with information for buses to Vienna to the reception lady who gladly printed out local bus tine. We would definitely use this hotel again

I would just like to call your attention to the fact that this photo does not show the Trattnerhof, as is the subject of the review, but a different, much smaller inn about 3 or 4 km outside Semriach village on the road from Friesach to Semriach. This place is called "Sandwirt" and is owned by the Rath family. It is a very nice inn in a beautiful setting at the foot of a mountain with a waterfall. They have a great playground and a little zoo for children and there is no traffic either, because the place is at the end of the road. The owner of the place and his mother cook regional dishes very well indeed, and at a moderate price. They have a very nice restaurant garden too. I think they have rooms, but I have never seen them myself. Hope this will help anyone who is looking for a place to relax near Semriach.
Please do not use my rating - I only wanted to point out the mistake with the photo!!!
