A cozy Fazeda both rustic and elegant. Very quiet, with only eight rooms. The hotel is run by a very gentle staff that makes you feel like home. Excellent breakfast, and very good restaurant: the chef cooks tipical brazilian or fusion cusine. To reach the hotel you have to drive for many kilometers a dirt road, but the huge beach...

I can't thank enough the kindest and most awesome staff of the region for the most amazing week of my year, or I think I could say of my life. I went there on the first week of Sept/15 when is considered low season, so you can imagine how spoiled I got for a whole week. I also gained some...

When I think back on all the monumental moments I've had in life like the first epic view of the Taj Mahal, stumbling on a rare Kiwi bird in the NZ bush, climbing over the last hill to see machu pichu rising in the mist, I think about the sunrise on the beaches of Cala and Divino. And I can...

Little bungalows dotted down the hill to the beach, simply but stylishly decorated - think whitewashed walls, driftwood, white sheets and carefully chosen accessories - with fabulous views over the sea and the near-deserted espelho beach. The hotel has a little cafe by the sand serving lunch and drinks (and superb pina coladas), and on the beach each bungalow has...

Awesome hotel with a great birdseye view from Praia do Espelho. Great for people how wants to stay away from busy places. The staff spoiled me all the time, they have done everything to make me feel comfortable. Great food, fair wine selection, comfortable room. A piece of paradise in southern Bahia... The location is very remote and difficult to access, but once you get there you realize the trip was worth it. You have a grand tropical beach almost to yourself. The rooms are simple and homely decorated. Almost rustic. No AC and the shower is "cold" but it doesn't matter, since you don't need these things there. We had wonderful...

Suits us in so many ways. Idyllic coast and so well recieved by such friendly staff. Totally unpretentious and quirky Bahian/ Mediterranean arquitecture that is so right for the setting. To top it all the food is very good!

I only wish we had stayed longer than 2 nights. Had I known how perfect and relaxing it was we would have stayed all week. The Praia de Espelho is remote so you don't have the crowded beaches that you find in the main part of Trancoso. The hotel has a very eco feel to it, and we had a...

My husband and I spent four nights, three days in this beautiful place along the Praia de Espelho beach for our honeymoon. It's rustic, but charming. It's a rare gem that has actually tried (and succeeded at) honoring its surroundings and Bahian heritage. The breakfasts, which over look the ocean are divine, and the "beach house/bar" is fantastic. The room...

There are about 9 bungalows spread in a nice green area on the top of a "falesia", with nice view to the sea. The staff is super nice, supportive and with super good mood all the time. Try dinner on the roof of the restaurant - book it before.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Calá & Divino is the only hotel located exactly in the Espelho Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil and the world, known for its beautiful nature and privacy. Our spaces are designed in a rustic and elegant design with refined touches, without departing from the concept of simplicity that a farm on the edge of a semi-deserted beach should have. A wide carpeted grass area, has 5 bungalows spread on the hillside, 2 bungalows on the beach and also a house with two bedrooms, living room and integrated kitchen, all with elements of comfort, including some amenities of the renowned brand L'Occitane. In any of these areas you can enjoy a wide visual of the sea, appearing between the leaves of a green coconut that goes down the cliff to the where the river meets the beach. The Hotel Fazenda Calá & Divino takes part in this harmonious environment, being referenced in many magazines of national and international tourism, figuring up as cover of the book Living in Bahia, prestigious international publisher Taschen. ... more   less
