We loved the location close to ski hill and trails. Excellent restaurant and spa. Outdoor hot tubs nice end to day. Made great effort for one vegan in our family. Spa was short staffed , but treatments were excellent. Staff very friendly to us Anglophones !
Super comfortable hotel and very relaxing. Really enjoyed the view of the forest and deer feeders from my balcony. Dining room service was friendly and professional, food was top notch. Was here for business, but will be back for fun at some point.
Purchased a New Years Eve package for over 700$ for a one night stay. It included breakfast and dinner and a band. Dinner was good but service was mediocre. Breakfast was plentiful but cold. The band was kareokish. The rooms are large but dated and need upgrading. One of the bathrobes provided was so used we had to call and have it replaced. All and all a huge disapointment. After reading the previous reviews it would seem that this "used" to be a nice place to come with great service.
Room and facility - Beautiful food - excellent Customer Service - Zero Don't expect any return phone calls or pleasant discussions when dealing with a situation outside the norm Lost and Found - doesn't exist
A lovely place for walks in the paths and in the gardens. The fall Colours were amazing. A quiet refuge in the fall.at this time the pool, the sugar shack were closed. The staff does require some polishing but at this time in 2022 they re hard to find.
My husband and I were regulars of the Auberge until the pandemic hit. It was our go to for an overnight getaway as a couple. We went for the impeccable service, the surroundings and the food. This year we went for our wedding anniversary which is on Thanksgiving weekend and sadly I felt compelled to write this review and give only a 3-star rating. We usually have dinner and breakfast at the Auberge. It is still nice and cozy, the surroundings are very well maintained. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The issues boil down to the service and the food. We travel a lot and are certainly very familiar with checking into hotels, and somehow even though we checked in online, it seemed to be a complicated process. The lady welcoming us was also alone on a Friday at 5PM and had to constantly answer the phone. We understand that there is a shortage of staff, but 3rd party phone companies are available to smaller hotels for exactly that reason. This may be something the Auberge should look into. As usual we dropped our bags in our room and went downstairs for a drink by the fireplace before dinner. Even though it was cold outside, there was no fire in the fireplace which is too bad because it is definitely part of the atmosphere. We used to enjoy so much having our drinks by the fire before dinner. Oh well...no big deal. The young friendly man behind the bar told us that the waitress would come by to take our order. She gave us the drinks menu and told us that she would come back. 15 minutes later we finally ask the young man for our drinks, and another lady came in to prepare them. Somehow, it was just very complicated to order 2 drinks, so we didn't order more. I cannot say anything about the quality of our dinner or the way it was presented and prepared. It is just no longer gastronomy. I had salmon served with Hollandaise and my husband had the filet mignon. The fall vegetables were plenty and well presented. Everything was good but nothing special or out of the ordinary. The menu used to be a little more adventurous. And again, that would have been ok if it would not have been for the price asked for those plates. $39 for a VERY small piece of salmon, $59 for an as small piece of filet mignon. It was overpriced. Appetizers were also noting out of the ordinary. The service in the dining room was very average. Certainly not at par with the style of the dining room and the prices asked. We're not fussy people, but when we pay a certain price, expectations come with it, and this is certainly not the service we used to experience at the Auberge. After dinner we went back to our room and our key card was deactivated. Back downstairs to reactivate. We tried 2 more time the next day to get into our room, and it key card system was just not functioning. However, nobody offered to come with us to check what was wrong or to open the door. We were just told is was technology...We finally hunted down the cleaning person to open our door. Next morning, breakfast.....a disaster. The Auberge offers Brunch on Sundays, but this was a Saturday. We sat down and were told that breakfast was the buffet we walked by near the elevator. Buffet??? Not really. There were lukewarm scramble eggs, apparently pancakes were out, gooey bacon, breakfast sausage, cold croissant and chocolate croissant, fruit salad, 1 type of cheese, 1 type of pâté. And a toaster to make your own toast, plastic containers of jam and peanut butter. Not only was there no variety, but the buffet was not maintained or cleaned and offered on a plain table with a black tablecloth. No flowers, fall decorations, nothing. Again, we would not be complaining if we would not have paid the price we did. It always comes to what you get for your money. We may go back to Les Gallants for an overnight, but there are many more interesting restaurants in the area for the price. But then again, we loved going to Les Gallants because we did not have to go out to eat and enjoy ourselves. …
My in laws booked a two night visit here because it's only a few minutes away from us and we are 5 hours away from them. My MIL booked it online with the hotel website and it was very glitchy. She booked 2 nights with the free Sunday brunch included. So they would check in Saturday and check out Monday morning. My MIL called the hotel to make sure the booking went through because she never got a confirmation email. The concierge assured her that her booking was confirmed and she would have the two nights at $200 a night. WELL, they go to check in and the front desk say that my MIL booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Not 2 nights with 1 room. My MIL explained that she had called to confirm. But the hotel said they had no idea what she was talking about. But they offered to send my in laws to a hotel down the road free of charge. And pay for their dinner the following night. My in laws said that they were trying to make a reservation for dinner for all 6 of us. The hotel said they would pay for all 6 of us. My in laws were understanding and appreciated the dinner offer. However when they got to the hotel it was a HOSTEL!!! A HOSTEL WHERE ROOMS ARE ONLY $40!!! Not equal value at all. And my in-laws had to clean their own room at this hostel. The following night my in laws went to the hotel to check in and were charged a deposit of $150 which was fine. At that time they checked to make sure that dinner was going to be covered for all 6 of us. The hotel said yes. Check in went fine. We all go to sit down for dinner and my in laws check again with the front desk. "will all 6 of us be covered?" They said yes. The waitress comes over and tell us that only my in-laws (including my sister in-law) will be covered for dinner. It was a 5 star restaurant so it was very expensive.... and the AC was broken was we were super hot and sweaty and it took 2 hours to get our mediocre food. The next morning they go to eat breakfast and they are told they aren't covered.... They go to check out and they are charged $800. 800. EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS! they are confused and ask why they are being charged so much for 1 night. They are then told that when they booked they were told it was that much. No ma'am they were not. They were charged for dinner and breakfast pluses the deposit. Wtf.…
More attention and proactivity from the staff would've avoided complaints from the wedding guests and stress on the bride. Reception staff were rude to the mother of the bride and the hair stylists on arrival. This is unacceptable. We understand we are in the height of wedding season but more preparation and professionalism from the staff would've been appreciated. Shout out to Manon who was helpful and the boy with the blond hair. The wedding was still a success.
Great facility with excellent staff which did everything possible to make our stay a great experience. We will definitely be back as we really loved our room and the grounds. The food was very good but again the service was exceptional.
Always enjoy our visit to Auberge des Gallant. Rooms are large comfortable, and balconies are great for enjoying a coffee or glass of wine while relaxing. Food and service also enjoyable. Recent policy of applying a $150 deposit and not being able to finalize and close our account upon check-out was a disappointment.
