Having eaten at the golf hotel on numerous occasions I was really disappointed this time 27/2/2016. The food and service we found to be poor. Staff going out back through fire exit coming in smelling of cigarette smoke not ideal in restaurant. I ordered a chicken sizzling platter which came in a bowl and definatley not sizzling when I mentioned...

I've been coming to the golf hotel for years with my gran Maude Perry. This is the 1st time we've actually stayed. I can honestly say you wouldn't find a more friendly lovely place to stay. The food was absolutely fantastic. The staff bent over backwards to help as we had a new born baby at the time and they...

Had booked a table for 7.30pm after a long drive up from Yorkshire for a weekend away. Got there to very welcoming lady behind the bar. Gave the kids colouring books and crayons so they could do some pictures whilst waiting for food. Very lovely. The food was great and quite big portions. Good value for money and very lovely...

The service provided by all members of staff was superb. The room was spacious and comfortable with lots drawer and hanging space. The location on the main street opposite The Green was excellent, easy to walk to local shops and plenty free parking.

The hotel may look a little tired, but what a well run establishment, the rooms are kept very clean and well appointed. On arriving at The Golf Hotel, it was notable that the façade was in a poor state & I wondered what awaited me inside. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very welcoming smile awaiting & what appeared a nice clean hotel. The lady receptionist was very helpful in lending me a charger for my phone & told me that...

The fabric of the building could do with some TLC, but can't fault the location or the helpfulness of the staff. The bicycle storage facilities were excellent and the breakfast certainly set us up well for a day's pedalling!

Reasonable hotel, set only a few hundred yards from Silloth Golf Club. Rooms are adequate for golf trips and food is served in the restaurant until about 9pm. Breakfasts are fine. The selling point of this hotel is the friendly staff and it location. Ive stayed here for about 10 years on our annual trip. Some rooms are better than...

We are privately owned and run and are passionate about local seasonal food, hospitality, quality and service, so sit back and relax and enjoy yourself! This historic landmark hotel in the town centre, overlooking the town green offers a private and peaceful setting for a few days relaxation "away from it all", a delicious meal in our refurbished lounge bar and restaurant or even perhaps a business meeting or conference. With growing function trade and traditional Sunday Carvery the hotel has everything to offer. The Golf Hotel is also gaining a reputation in North Cumbria as a wonderful wedding venue, either for a civil ceremony or the wedding reception itself or even both. Private party celebrations can also be catered for here. Why not celebrate an engagement, wedding anniversary or birthday with us?As well as comfortable bed & breakfast guest accommodation, we also offer a range of services for business visitors. We have rooms with excellent facilities which can be booked for business meetings or our Function Suite can be booked to hold a conference of up to 140 delegates. Set in the centre of the small coastal town of Silloth, noted for its invigorating but mild climate. It is well known for its peaceful laid back atmosphere or perhaps most of all, the beautiful Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), famous for its stunning sunsets, abundant bird life and beautiful coastline walks. Just a short swing away is the highly acclaimed 18 hole championship link golf course at Silloth-on-Solway Golf Club. Silloth is an ideal location for a short break or a family holiday. Our location allows easy access to the Cumbrian towns of Cockermouth, Whitehaven, Workington, Keswick and the historic city of Carlisle - with easy access from the M6 and A66. And yet we're just a short drive to some of the most stunning scenery in the Lake District National Park, the Roman wall and the Scottish Borders and Dumfriesshire, which is visible on the opposite shore of the Solway Firth. ... more   less
