We stayed at this resort from March 1st - 10th. The speedboat transfer from Ao Po Marina was fast and efficient. We were greeted at the pier by Edward and his assistant who transported us by electric buggy to our sea front villa with private pool.
All the villas are beautifully private and spacious. The pool was gorgeous and the view out to the islands of Phang Nga Bay spectacular. We were a hop and skip from the Z Bar for a free evening cocktail and glorious sunset views. They served the best Bloody Mary I have ever had!
We were a longer walk down to the main restaurant for breakfast through lovely paths and trees and an army of gardeners keeping it all tidy. Buggies were available to transport you around the resort if you didn't want to walk!
Due to the Covid19 virus the hotel wasn't busy. It was possible to stay away from other guests. We enjoyed our villa and pool and spent most days there reading and relaxing.
This isn't really deserving of the Luxury title given in its advertising. It needs a lot of updating and the villas are very 'rustic' in decoration and style. However they are extremely comfortable, a gorgeous bed, window sofa and extensive outside sitting areas. We liked it enormously but having stayed in true 'luxury hotels' in previous travels this hotel didn't reach their standards.
The breakfast was superb with a la carte options included in the AI package. The Tonsai Restaurant serving Asian food at lunch and dinner didn't suit our taste. Our first night's meal there was not nice, the chicken dish my partner chose was tough and my deep fried snapper was like a piece of leather! The next day the chef Sandeep came to see us and he arranged for a special meal to be cooked for us, which was lovely. The Rum Chapel was very good and we ate there when they were open for lunch and dinner. My Grill was also a very good dinner option.
The drinks were extremely expensive and were equivalent to big city prices.
The main reason for this we feel could be that everything the hotel uses from water to consumeables has to be shipped out to the island.
Having said all of this the staff were superb, friendly and efficient and we enjoyed our stay. Edward was great at customer service and sorting out any problems and the reception staff were lovely!
It is unlikely we would visit this hotel again but we wish them luck for the future after the Covid19 crisis is over!

A wonderful resort sits on naka island, the great experience since the arrival til the in room check in service. We got upgraded to the tropical villa, which is amazing. Villa is well maintained, with private pool and outdoor hot bath. The room is specious with semioutdoor bathroom. Mattress is firm and comfortable, you have so many different places to chill in your own villa.

The swimming pool is next to the beach, water is clean, less people during the day, feel like another private pool.

Breakfast is tasty with variety, staffs here are very welcoming and you can feel their passion to interact with customers, which I really like it.

The spa here is also great, therapist is super skillful, I fell sleep while having the oil massage.

Everything here is amazing, only the mosquitoes are annoying, but don’t worry, the Naka provides the spray and everything you need to kill those bugs 😂

Room/Villa: I got an upgrade to tropical pool villa. The villa itself was spacious but the pool was a bit too small. There were steam room (built-in with shower room) and outdoor bath tub which you may enjoy it in the fresh air.

Food: We loved all of the meals during our stay even though our there was only 1 restaurant opened (we stayed on the weekday). Both Thai and Western dishes were perfect.

Recreation: There were many recreational activities at the hotel. I jogged to Tub Po beach in the morning but I get lost and ended up at another beach (Orange beach). I tried Paddle Board for the first time, thanks to June, recreational staff who showed me how-to. If you wanted to challenge yourself, kayaking around the island is highly recommended (2 hours) and you’ll get a certificate from the hotel. Of course, I did it!

Service: All of the staff were super helpful. Thanks to Yen, front desk/check-in staff for showing me the villa and thanks Pop for your friendliness and good conversation.

I would definitely recommend everyone to stay in this hotel and I would like to stay here again. 👍👍👍

Forget about the Deluxe room and go for Seaview Pool Villa 1 Bedroom Villa Price is way higher but definitely worth the money. Deluxe room (already with high price) was very small , without any view, and didn't equipped with bathtub while seaview pool villa gets you at least 6 times the spaces with HUGE bathtub and a seaview private pool.

Food/service were great, my kids (5&3yrs old) ate for free, and hotel has plenty of activities (free & paid) for both adults and young kids. Would be great if they can clean/filter up the sand at their beach as it has too many small rocks, broken shelves, and garbage around. almost stepped on a steel nail at the beach.

The hotel itself is nice, the rooms are nice, the beach sunsets beautiful and the staff are friendly and attentive. The hotel itself just lacks the finishing touches of being a truly great resort.....small things, like the cleaner leaving a cleaning cloth in our bathroom, the table linen being stained when I just saw them change it etc. It just lacks the touch of class you get in other resorts for the money.

If you do stay here and you’re thinking the “my grill” (the restaurant you have to reserve prior) is the best restaurant...think again. The experience there was genuinely poor, food NOT good. The other two restaurants, on the other hand, were lovely.

A nice stay, but I doubt I’ll be coming back. We stayed at the treehouse villas in January, (if you’re kid free) they blow naka out of the water and the rooms are half the price.

Dear Mopsy14, Thank you for staying with us a The Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Phuket and providing your honest feedback. I am happy to hear that our ambassadors were able to ensure you an exceptional service in an attentive manner. I will make sure this compliment will be delivered to my team members. I have investigated with the appropriate team members to ensure that this does not happen again and be able to execute an even higher level of service in the future for our valued guests. Finally, I stay here! I went to stay with my friend for 1 night. I have never through that this resort located here. We have to park a car and taking a shuttle boat to Naka Island. It just only 5-7 mins to the island. As soon as we arrived, staff will pick up us to the resort.
We got an upgrade room to Tropical type. The resort was very nice and private. The room is separated with bathroom. It’s like a corridor and walk to the bathroom and outdoor jacuzzi! Our room have a small private pool(can not swim) but around our resort zone also have a pool. Within the resort also have a big pool located closed to the beach. In the night, the resort was very quiet and hear only the insects flying. It’s so quiet that make us feel scare haha!
Around 3 pm. The resort have a complimentary coconut ice cream which is very delicious served you! Unfortunately, Sunset bar was closed. Therefore, I don’t spend time to watch the sunset as many reviews mentioned that you don’t miss it!
At this time we used Travel Together program for Thai citizens to discount the room rate and food and also used staff benefits. Therefore, our expenses for this hotel is cheap for us. :)
Staff were very nice and informative for us.

In February we booked to visit this resort not knowing what COVID restrictions would be or even if we would be able to visit. We paid for a double room at around £2k for two people staying for 10 nights, we had all meals, transfers and 4 massages included in the rate.

We arrived at Phuket airport and were greeted by very friendly staff who quickly had us aboard the transfer car and on our way to the island, taking care of the SHA COVID requirements. The front of house manager that greeted us at the pier then took us on the speedboat to the island before showing us to our own villa.

We had an unexpected upgrade to a Tropical Pool Villa, with a private pool, steam room, outdoor bath, and other luxury amenities.

We loved the whole experience of visiting Naka Island, it was made so enjoyable by the staff who treated us like royalty. The villa was very clean and well stocked with drinking water as well as the usual soaps etc.

The communal pool area and beach front were also lovely spaces, again the staff were always around with drinking water and beach towels too.

The food options on the island are good, with 3 restaurants. We found “Rum Chapel” to be our favourite as it was air conditioned and not exposed to some of the sudden downpours that are to be expected. The staff in this restaurant were also the best, Park, Yeen, Bert, Aur and Pop were very professional and attentive, even with our special requests our orders were never wrong.

The main hotel restaurant offered a good breakfast with lots of options. Again the staff were great and always eager to ensure we were catered for. However, the environment could be improved by closing off the bin/pot wash area that is visible from the restaurant and can attract wildlife.

Our only hiccup was a meal at MyGrill. This meal attracted a small surcharge as the menu includes more expensive meals (steaks etc.). We were not put off by this and were hoping for a nice meal. The steak quality was not so good, side dishes took too long to arrive and the service was not what we had become used to at the resort. However, we were reassured by the waiter on the night that this was not normal and we could come back another night. The food and beverage manager greeted us at breakfast the next morning and was keen to rectify any issues. We did dine again at MyGrill and the experience was much better, the chef even prepared us some special appetisers. A great recovery. Although we would question the surcharge on this restaurant when Rum Chapel seemed to out do it!

The resort is on a small island (recommend the kayak all the way around for free), it would be good to know how the resort supports the island as it seems it is still developing.

Overall for the price we paid this was an excellent experience and one we won’t forget. Thank you so much to all the staff that made this trip extra special.

Dear James B, Thank you for your extremely candid and detailed review. It was a pleasure to have you in our beautiful part of the world. It is so nice that Thailand continues to make the guest journey more and more simple allowing you to visit with ease. I will pass on your kind words to the resort team and follow up on the feedback at MyGrill with the food and beverage team. We are always working to elevate our guests experience and these comments are very helpful. You are correct that our enchanted island is still developing, we are happy to be the only resort on the island and work very closely with the local fishing village to improve not only their quality of life through hiring residents to work at the resort and facilitate extra projects but also through CSR and education. Beach cleanups, education at the small school on reducing waste and how to dispose of it in a sustainable manner are a top priority of mine. Resort is an active member of the Phuket Hotels Association and I personally sit on the Environment working group as it is so vital to the future of our part of the world. I thank you again for your review and remain at your disposal in the future. Sincerely, David

I was looking for a resort where I can celebrate my sister's birthday. After searching around Phuket, I finally ended up choosing The Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa. At the time I booked this resort, they were having the Beach-cation promotion. In the end, I ended up having to book 4 rooms where I had my friends to join me as well. It was really a great break for all of us. In order to get to the resort, we rented a car from the airport to Ao Po Grand Marina pier. You will need to book the speedboat with the resort so that they can arrange the transfer for you from the pier to the resort. It only takes about 5-10 mins boat ride. Once you reach the resort, the friendly staff will check you in and transfer you to your room or villa via the buggy carts. They will also explain to you the facilities that are available in the resort. We stayed for 2 nights and weren't able to try out all the facilities. However, we managed to use the main swimming pool as well as the pool in the villa. We also tried the 2 hours aromatherapy massage which was superb! Some other activities which you can use are the gym, sala pool (another common pool which is smaller), bicycles, kayak, standing paddle board and morning activities such as yoga arranged the resort at specific times. I stayed in the Tropical Pool Villa and it is huge. The villa has a separate toilet, bathroom with shower/steam room and bathtub. Check out the Happy Hour at the Rum Chapel. We certainly didn't miss this moment. We tried the restaurants where we had dinner on both nights. The first night was at Tonsai restaurant where we had Thai food. This is the same restaurant that serves breakfast. On our second night, we tried the western food at My Grill restaurant which is only open for dinner. Overall, all of us were happy with our short stay and wished we could extend our stay as it was so relaxing in the atmosphere we were in. The weather was just perfect as we could see the beautiful sunset while we were there. We were told that we were lucky as it was raining a couple of days ago before we arrived. If you want a perfect getaway with some privacy, this is the place to be.

We stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights during our 2 weeks in Thailand for our honeymoon. The entire staff is beyond friendly and will do whatever it takes to make your stay more comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. We had a day excursion planned that required us to be on the mainland by 5:15am and they had someone pick us up from our villa at 4:30am and had the speedboat waiting for us and even arranged a taxi to the location once we reached the mainland. The resort is very clean and well maintained with everything you need for a beautiful stay on an island!!!

We stayed at Naka for 9 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. Special thanks to head chef Kumar and his team at both Tonsai and Rum Chapel restaurants as the food and service was excellent. It was nice to have the choice of an al la carte menu on a full board package, although drinks are very expensive! The hotel team overall are great and the hotel is well deserved of a five star review. The hotel is remote but excursions offer pick up from the hotel jetty or the speedboat operates 24/7 to Phuket.
P.S - the older style thatched roof villas are prone to leaks in the roof as we experienced during an afternoon downpour. The outside shower is great, though the mossies can be a real pain if they take to you!
