We stayed at the farm because we didnt have an 4x4 to go up to the camp in the Dunes, which are 3 ks away from it. But one can almost go up there with an normal car. Only the last 100meters are deeper sand which require a 4x4. The Lady at the farm was very friendly. The have a...

On our one month trip to Namibia we have seen plenty of different accommodations across the country and price segments (see list below). The Red Dune Camp Site offers a spectacular remote location on top of a dune with excellent facilities. We liked: solitary and remote location in a fascinating landscape, owners assistance with adjusting the tire pressure, flexibility with...

Very cold, but amazing star gazing opportunities for the avid photographer. Another one of those special places. If travelling through Namibia to the Kgalagadi go via Gochas and spend the night (or 2) in the dunes.

This is just awsome! Camp on one of 4 sites on red Kalahari sand dune. View and feeling is breathtaking. Very nice and helpful hosts. To get on the dune you need a 4x4. Tyre pressure should be around 1.5 to 1.8 bar. The host will help you adjust pressure. If you can go for site 1. It even got...

We camped in the grassy garden next to the owners house. There is electricity and clean ablutions. It was raining in the morning and the friendly owner invited us over to take shelter under his veranda. We were only staying on a camping basis but he allowed us to make tea in the kitchen. A very convenient place to stay...

What an amazing place! Although we were freezing our noses off as it was around 0 degrees we enjoyed our stay on the wonderful red dune. You need a 4×4 to get to the camp sites, but it's just the last couple of meters and easy to manage :) We arrived there just in time for the sunset – so...

In December 2013 we had the opportunity to stay two days at Red Dune Camp. Due to a miscalculation on our side we only arrived at 22h30 (half past ten) at the Red Dune Camp. Pieter was so helpful and friendly. We appreciated all his assistance that time of the night. We went to the camping site and set up...

Excellent camping spot in the east of Namibia. Pieter and his wife were excellent hosts, very accommodating. Camp was clean and the dinner was home cooked. Very quiet and secluded I wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

We slept here for one night in the room. The food is great and Marieta is really a great cook. The room is comfortable and you can park just in front of the room. The red dune is 3 km away from the building and is really worth a visit. You can walk or go there by car. On the...

The camp is located out of gochas, so out of common tourist roads, but conveniently reachable by car, also a 2x4 (paved road). It's at the margin of the kalahari desert, with already some wold animals and not so many people as you can find somewhereelse. The two old owners are kind and nice, they also sell wood, carchoal and...
