We stayed here for two nights and it is good base for us to visit Dune 47 and Deadvlei which are spectacular sites to visit. The accommodation is 15 Kms away from Solitaire. It is remote in a good location. I have never seen stars so bright in the sky, we just took our chairs out of tents/ chalets and...

The room was more basic than expected, but it certainly has what is needed. There was at least hot water in the shower! Stunning location, though. Quite a drive from Sesriem, but close to Solitaire for fuel/food. The dinner was bbq-style buffet - tasty, but not plentiful.

This is probably the simplest way to feel really closer to nature without the fuss and expense if fancy accommodation and luxury, but also without the inconvenience of setting up tents, dealing with the elements and making your own food. The location is stunning, with a pool elevated having great sunset views. The main lodge will do breakfast for guests...

The chalets with tent canvas upon brick foundations are ok, the wind can create quite some noise. Food buffet was Ok but nothing spectacular. The price is interesting so, in the end "value for money". And who wants to sit inside when there is so much to discover outside.

We struggled to locate Soft Adventure camp at first because they do not have a separate sign at the turn-off from the C19. They are part of Namib Naukluft Lodge. We found the tented accommodation to be basic, but comfortable enough and the setting is beautiful. They have a very nice self catering braai area where groups (we were two...

Luxurious spacious tented village perched under a mountain top in the beautiful Namib Naukluft national park. The tents were spacious, spotless and the outdoor shower was a great relief from the heat. A delicious breakfast and barbecue dinner were served in the evening in the main lodge which was a 10 minute stroll up a dusty quaint sandy road. Staff...

The Soft Adventure Camp is part of the Namib Naukluft Lodge, about half an hour's drive from Sesriem and the entrance of Sossusvlei National Park. Located about a km from the main lodge buildings, where meals are being served on a beautiful terrace overlooking the spectacular landscape, about two dozen huts form the Soft Adventure camp. When making your way...

The swimming pool with it's view was an ultimate highlight. The rooms/units were clean and very basic. The mobile aircooling units is complety insufficient to the wooden structure and heat of the location. We wlhad dinner and breakfast at the lodge included to our stay. Dinner and breakfast was ok, but not that great comparing to price of the various...

I took the advice of the other reviewers and stayed at the soft camp of the Namib Naukluft Lodge and didn't regret it. The soft camp is set away from the main Lodge against a rocky ledge to protect from the winds. My tent was actually a fairly large tented room on top of a concrete floor with the bathroom...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Soft Adventure Camp: The Soft Adventure Camp has been designed for easy tourists, overland tours, that do not want to spend much money, do not want to carry their own tents, have a simple but clean chalet with proper beds and private bathroom with shower. Each chalet is individually placed around the granite hill, each has its own car park - right next to the chalet. 2 sides of the chalets are canvas as from 1 m and the other 2 sides are normal chalet walls. The bathroom is tiled and has some open space between the walls and the roof. This has been closed with shade net. It is great - for its 'close to nature-feeling' and with outdoor enthusiasts it is greatly appreciated. The chalets only have a movable water-cooling system, which is not comparable with a proper high-speed & silent air-condition! The Soft Adventure Camp has a central main building, with central cooking facilities. Food is prepared In this open kitchen and served directly. If the wind should be blowing, the sides of this social gathering Place can be closed with canvas. There is a small bar in this unit. Individual guests, who have chosen this option are often taken to Namib Naukluft Lodge for their meals. The Soft Adventure Camp is app. 1.5 km away from the lodge and the distance can easily be walked. However, our guides and staff are also happy to transfer guests - for example in the evening. ... more   less

“Choose the soft camp! If noise bothers you, ask for a tent away from the BBQ/small pool area near the tents, but generally it is very quiet.”
