We did not stay at this hotel, but we did eat at the restaurant. Nice friendly service. We had the veal with mushrooms. Right on the main street in Assmanhausen near the train station. It must be a popular place, because it was pretty crowded despite being off season.

We arrived in Assmannshausen a bit road-weary and decided to stay put for the night. We walked the small town and stepped into this place on a whim due to an open table outside with a view of the Rhine. We were pleasantly surprised with the prices and the deliciousness of the food served here. I had a pork roast...

A lovely hotel on the banks of the Rhein. Spacious and comfortable rooms and great hospitality from the owners. We stayed here while attending the Grand Prix in Hockenheim and found the location and proximity to great restaurants very appealing. The only downside was that the rooms were a tad warm with no air conditioning, but the windows open fully...

The hotel is a small family run hotel, run by a Danish/German family. It's an older building, so rooms aren't all the same - but it's a part of the charm! The hotel is quite close to the main railway line, so there are some noise, but the building has been soundproofed, so as long as the windows are kept...

Although we are happy, mellow travellers, this was truly a disappointment. The hotel smells mostly of deep fryer fat throughout. The staff can barely muster a smile. Parking is not as explained. The railway right behind the hotel gives much noise. The hotel room was severely outdated. The bathroom clean but very small. On a lighter note: the bed was...

A Danish-speaking hostess who has the visitors' well-being as her primary goal to provide guests with something special. The hotel is not large, it means that you get a little personal relationship with the staff. Good restaurant, which is open all day. Very nice breakfast. The staff can help with bike rental, tour suggestions, and tickets to the ships on...

Our spacious room on the 3rd floor (accessible by elevator!) had a fabulous view of the Rhein River and its activities. The bathroom was very large and featured a separate shower and bathtub. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Staff were gracious and very helpful. English is spoken here as well. Train station is a short walk from the entrance. The...

We had dinner here recently while staying in the area. The restaurant was a lovely surprise. The food was fantastic - chanterelle soup, fresh local fish and calf steak. Truly a terrific meal and excellent service. Highly recommended.

Stayed at this hotel as part of a coach tour with Leger. I was given a third floor twin room, lovely as I was solo traveller. It looked as it had just been decorated to a high standard. The bathroom was very nice and cosy - the only downside was there is a railway line behind the hotel and you...

Very average food. There aren't many restaurants in this area. We had the pork with Mushroom cream sauce and steak bernaise. Staff was very nice. Wine was of the region and very average. This is a restaurant review, not hotel review.

“Choose a superior room. It is slightly larger, and overlooks the Rhine and a small square. Like all places on the Rhine runs the railroad close to the house, but the superior rooms have windows away from the railway that runs to the back of the house.”

“Ask for a Rhein River view room. While the train station is close by, you may hear train traffic in the evening hours behind the hotel. If you have a river-view room, you won't hear the trains, especially if you bring along a set of ear plugs.”
