We stayed at this guesthouse for 2 nights in early October 2016. Pros: This guesthouse was in a beautiful location with easy access to a glacial tongue. The Jon Riki restaurant is so beautifully decorated, and it was fun to listen to Maggi playing the piano. The breakfasts (extra charge) were good, with a nice selection of fruit (pineapple, yum!)...

A lovely guesthouse with a beautiful restaurant, local music and home-brewed beer. The rooms were small and basic, but comfortable and clean. The washrooms were shared and there is a shared common room in the building we stayed in. It felt more like a hostel then a guesthouse.

We didn't stay at the farm, but the restaurant is amazing. They make their own beer (very good), and we had some fantastic lamb stew. We couldn't stop taking pictures of the incredible view (sheep! a glacier! rolling hills!) Definitely the perfect place to stop at the end of a long day of hiking.

This place is really a place, where I would like to spend more time if not the rest of my life. The guesthouse is situated near the Vatnajökull glacier with a great view on the ice fronts. The rooms are decorated with dedication and clean. It nearly feels like coming home, as we were situated in the house where the...

Sure, it could use a bit of sprucing up but the scenery is beautiful. The restaurant is recently renovated and food was good. A brewery is to open soon too. Easy day trips/activities near by. The farm and restaurant family run. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful views. Enjoyed waking up to the sheep. Huge fan of the cat.

We were staying in a nearby guesthouse where the only dinner option was a massively overpriced dinner buffet . Having checked the lonely planet guide, we decided to try the restaurant . From outside, we thought we might've made a mistake. However, we had delicious food from a reasonably priced menu, the hosts were delightful. The Shepherds pie is definitely...

We stayed one night at the farm and ate breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant. The food was amazing, and a complete surprise in such a rural location. The innovativeness of the food is worthy, in our opinion, of a top quality restaurant in any European city. In addition, the staff were really friendly and accommodating. The guesthouse itself...

Really worn down. Can use a lot of paint on windows, doors, rooms etc. The bathroom had strange installations - not made by professionals. Location is wonderful. Dog seemed deaf - but we could be wrong on that. The cat was very friendly.

Wow what can I say? We originally stopped here to visit the petting zoo on the way to Hofn, (Which in itself was a really lovely experience and a lovely activity) and when we were paying inside the restaurant for the tour I was browsing the menus and knew immediately we had to return for dinner later that night. I...

I am an animal lover, so naturally it was hard for me to contain my excitement driving around Iceland with all the roaming lambs, goats, and horseys. Luckily, for about 5 USD I could pet these little lovers that were especially accustomed to visitors to my hearts content.
