A beautiful example of XIXth century genteel life style , Colonial Guest House offers balconies, verandahs, patios, shiny parquet floors , beautiful rooms , a view of the ocean, original photographs , and a small but deliciously cool swimming pool . On the management side, Bruno was particularly helpful and Luiza displayed an impressive talent for solving the Island’s endemic...

Staying in a colonial house in Sao Filipe that has been restored so beautifully provided us with a wonderful base from which to explore Fogo. We stayed one night in Cha and one night Sao Filipe, and are very happy that we were able to do both. Colonial Guest House offers some rooms with attached bathrooms and some without. All...

I stayed there just for 30 hours over New Year after being stranded on the island by TACV. This establishment is so chilled out. The room I had was huge and had opening windows and A/C. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Breakfast was in the garden and a great breakfast it was. The staff are friendly...

A very nice hotel in the center of Sao Filipe with nice hosts and a cosy atmosphere. Old style (bathroom across the patio), fine bar and good food in the restaurant. You feel a little at home here, and the hosts do everything to make the stay a special experience for you.

The Colonial has kept all its charming character from when it was the home of a wealthy merchant. The staff is always helpful and smiling, and the owners friendly. You'll wake up in the morning to the smell of home baked rolls and can enjoy the excellent food.

This hotel has lots of character, from the front, to the middle stairways to the room. We had room 6 - it was enormous, nothing fancy but set the old fashioned scene great. No TV - no great problem as we weren't here to watch telly. On this point - room 6 is on the top floor but is at...

We stayed at the Colonial for four nights and had a great experience. Friendly, helpful staff, excellent food and a good central location. We went on two excursions which were both better than we had imagined, and we were made to feel at home. We will be back!

It was very quiet when we went so we had a private pool! Fabulous, large, old rooms leading directly to the pool area. Bathrooms are not ensuite and that wasn't an issue. Friendly and helpful staff. Drinks and food were very expensive and the food menu is limited. Breakfast was excellent!

This hotel is more like a bed and breakfast type hotel, the room was a good size and it led to the balcony and pool area, plus we had a balcony on the front. The area was a good location walking around tends to be a little hilly. The food was good. There is the Imperial restaurant up from the...

staying here, is experiencing heritage in a splendid way. If you need some luxery, stay here! Some rooms are big and are with a beatiful bathroom, others are smaller and without bathroom. The swimmingpool is lovely, a bit small and filled with salt water, but in this way eco.
