The baglio (farmhouse) of Marquise Platamone can be found in Trapani and Paceco Salt Pan Nature Reserve. It is located a short distance from the sea, overlooking the Egadi archipelago that, in 241 B.C., Was the site of the naval battle between the Romans and the Carthaginians. In more recent years it has been the location of the 32nd America's Cup sailing contest. The careful renovation which has been carried out to convert the farm house into accommodation facilities has preserved both the environment and the genuine characteristics of Sicilian tradition. The Relais Antiche Saline is halfway between Trapani airport and the city centre, only a few kilometers from both.In fact, in only 10 minutes you can get to Nubia and arrive at the Relais.

Lovely comfy room in a beautiful hotel. We walked to the windmill for dinner. There happened to be a salt festival going on so the area was busy but everyone was friendly and helpful. Lovely sunset. There is a bar and a swimming pool at the hotel. Breakfast was very good.

Very comfortable hotel with an outstanding location looking out over the salt pans, Egadi islands and the most magnificent sunsets. We had a large room with a large terrace, comfortable chairs and our own jacuzzi. I think we were lucky to have the best room (201) but it was definitely worth it. There’s a nice pool and a bar/breakfast room. The hotel owns a restaurant about 250m away across the salt pans (don’t drink too much as you have to find your way back in the dark!). A lot of people come to the restaurant just for the sunset so it’s rather busy though most are taking photos rather than eating. Very nice staff and all very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

A very unique experience in a special location. Super quite and dark skies in this stand alone oasis set in a nature preserve and historic salt farming area. The associated restaurant down the path is as good as the hotel and the staff in both is excellent. Worth going out of your way to stay here.

Very welcoming and exceptionally helpful staff. Pleasant, simple rooms. Overall good value for money. The environment next to the salt pans and windmills is unique with amazing skies. Great views from many of the bedrooms and wonderful morning walks. Very convenient for visiting Mozia with all its ancient history and museum. The garden and pool are very relaxing. The restaurant is a short walk away, has lots of character and is excellent value, serving generous portions of Sicilian food.

If you stay here you are in for multiple treats. The historic location right next to the old salt works is unique and allows you to walk to the Salt Museum a few hundred meters from the hotel, which itself used to be the habitation of the salt work owners and a storage facility. Today it has been converted into a delightful and bright hotel overlooking the salt basins and white mounts of salt. Rooms are light and functionily, the breakfast room beautifully decorated in light blue colours and glass tables with inlaid salt. The pool area is clean and inviting and drinks and cocktails served. There is also a jaccuzzi overlooking the salt fields. Dinner can be enjoyed at the next door Salt Restaurant which is in the same building as the Museum, a five minutes walk from the hotel. Staff is extremely polite, helpful, professional, structured and well coordinated. Not really anything to critisize so only five stars is an option.

The advantages are a good hotel, including games, swimming pools, restaurant, rooms, reception, reception staff, Mr. Michael and Shady, and the reception staff are very cooperative and helpful. The noticeable defects are that the level of food is not satisfactory, and the quality of drinks is not good, such as cola and juices, and the level of night entertainment. I hope the hotel management will work on these things that will differentiate in The level of service, especially the variety of food, such as the choices in the quality of cooked vegetables and not limited to only one item in the buffet
