The Amalia Cascina in Langa estate is in Monforte d’Alba and is an exclusive starting point to discover the wonders of the Langhe. It was created in 2003 when the Boffa family, seduced by the serenity of the area, acquired an early 20th century farmhouse and its surrounding vineyards that produced the typical wines of the zone: Dolcetto and Barbera. The farm served as the basis for a new project that in just a short time saw the creation of new areas and buildings, with the main farmhouse becoming a boutique B&B. Additional vineyards were then acquired in the prestigious cru of Barolo Bussia and Le Coste in Monforte. A new winery was also built. Their intention was clear: to produce high quality wine that respected the territory and tradition in an elegant and reserved location. If the Amalia Cascina in Langhe project continues to expand today, in line with its initial intention, the merit goes to the commitment and professionalism of the Boffa family because here everything is family-run. Maria Angela, the mother, runs the B&B with great passion; Gigi, the father, applies his vast experience to oversee the management of the estate’s general activities; while son Paolo is in charge of the vineyards and the winery with support of a team of top professionals.

Cascina Amalia has everything. Very nice rooms, big and enough space for two. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we have had i Italy. The family and staff is so friendly and helpful. The surroundings is magnificent with the garden and pool area located so the view is outstanding. We will come back for sure !!!

Excellent place for exploring the Langhe. Easy drive from Torino. Very cozy place with outstanding service. Immaculately clean and very well organized. They have amazing very well maintained swimming pool. Plentiful breakfast. Cinzia was so kind in helping us with most our restaurant reservations. Their own Barolo and Barbera are simply amazing, perhaps the best we tried around the area – we purchased a couple of bottles to take them home. Cinzia gave us a private wine tasting session explaining all the details of wine producing in the region. There any many excellent restaurants with breathtaking views within a short drive and even walking distance from the place. We visited Trattoria La Torricella, Trattoria della Posta, Agriturismo Iride and Cascina Schiavenza. All of them were perfect. Many thanks to everyone working in this place for making our vacations so comfortable and unforgettable! It was so quiet and peaceful there!

We selected Amalia Cascina after researching dozens of agriturismi in the area. From the moment we saw it, we knew we had made the perfect choice! There are only six rooms, three of which have balconies, but much thought has been put into everything about the property. The rooms are all on the second floor (just a heads up, if you have issues with stairs.) Our room was updated, a good size and very comfortable. The only amenity I missed was a mini-fridge in the room. There is no air conditioning, however the room was comfortable overnight as the slats in the window shutters let in air and a circulating fan is provided. There is a wonderful breakfast buffet set out in the morning, including freshly baked cakes and a tempting assortment of cheeses and breads. My husband is gluten free and he found plenty of choices. The buffet is set up inside the house but guests eat under a charming arbor outside. As for location, we found this to be a convenient location, no more than a 15 or 30 minute drive from most of the wine towns in the Langhe Valley. Be sure to leave time to relax at the property, take a walk through the vineyards or spend time in the lovely and immaculate pool. There are plenty of comfortable places to sit in the beautiful gardens, looking out on rows and rows of vineyards. Cinzia, the receptionist and especially Alexandra, who runs the breakfast buffet are friendly and very willing to make suggestions of things to do in the area and help with making reservations. "Complimenti" also to the staff who do the baking for breakfast and keep the rooms spotless. I cannot say enough positive things about this agriturismo. We would return to the area just to stay here! Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

We stayed at Amalia Cascina for three nights and only wish we had stayed longer. Our room was large and comfortable, with a nice ensuite bathroom and good closet space. The property is well maintained and the surroundings are gorgeous. The breakfast is substantial. The person who makes breakfast is friendly. The owner however is not up to the usual Piemontese standard in friendliness. She seemed not to want to bother to interact with guests.

Amalia Cascina in Langa is a great home base to explore the Piedmont region. It's no more than a 30 minute drive to Barolo, Alba, Monforte D'Alba, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga, etc. The room was comfortable and clean. We went in November so we couldn't take advantage of the pool but I would imagine that a summer visit would be quite enjoyable. It would be a wonderful place to sit outside amongst the vineyard with a bottle of wine. We highly recommend dining at Trattoria Della Posta which is within walking distance from this B&B. Make a reservation on-line, or ask the ladies at the B&B to make a reservation for you and you won't be disappointed! The B&B itself was somewhat difficult for us to find. It would not come up on our GPS so we just started driving up and down the different branches of Località Sant'Anna until we found it. We may have had an outdated GPS system so others may not have the same problem. Don't forget to try their wine! It's very reasonably priced at the B&B.

It's always hard to chose where to stay while touring the area. You're either in the sticks or stuck in a town. This is a little of the best of both. A two minute drive from Montforte center. Surrounded by vineyards this is a charming Agriturismo. A large outdoor seating area overlooks the hills. The main draw for us was that it was located across the valley from the famous Trattoria della posta on one side and the vineyard of Elio Grasso on the other. A very nice stay, recommend highly.

Very nice place to stay and explore the Langhe region. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Large, clean, nice room with perfect bed. Great garden and swimming pool, lots off cosy corners to relax, read a book or see the sun set. Breakfast is very nice and untypical italian: bread and cheese, ham, fresh fruit. great place for "dolce far niente"

Nice place, beautiful location and very nice owner. We traveled in 4 with two small babies, that were very welcomed! rooms are comfortable and super clean. Breakfast is delicious and we had the nice surprise of finding a kids' chair and kids glasses / plates for breakfast. This is unfortunately becoming less and less usual. The kids went back asking when we are going back to Cinzia's place!

My husband and I stayed at Amalia Cascina for 5 nights to visit the Piedmont area. The location is perfect for visiting all the small towns in the area. The Inn itself is a wine producing estate set among the vineyards with beautiful gardens and grounds. Our room (#6) was on the small side with a queen size bed, small balcony and good sized bathroom. The rooms are kept immaculately clean as is the entire place. The breakfast is very special...homemade jams, cakes, breads, fresh eggs, cheeses and meats. Cinzia is very helpful with suggestions for dining and destinations and happily will call ahead for you for reservations. The wifi worked fairly well in our room and very well in the common room. We were extremely happy with our choice to stay here and would recommend it highly.

We've stayed at Cascina Amalia for 12 nights and had a great time. We had our 1-year-old baby with us and the staff was very helpful in providing us with a baby bed, high chair, etc. Great garden and swimming pool, very spacious outdoor & indoor. Tasty, breakfast with a wijde variety of things, ánd freshly baked cakes! Possibility to have lunch. We visited some lovely small towns with nice trattoria's & osteria's. Lots of wine tasting opportunities in the surroundings.
