This hotel and restaurant is amazing on every level. The rooms are incredible - rustic and with a unique mood and the breakfast is delicious. The food in the restaurant is brilliant and so is the service. The menu is varied and thw food is made to the Italian standard. The wine list is incredible, with a whole lot of excellent vintages.

We made a reservation very last minute. A stylish and not common restaurant. Though we were in the area on the left side where it was very quiet (a bit to quiet) nice music would be a good idea. The service was fine. This restaurant was a little bit below my expectations due to the atmosphere but great food and loved the cheeses in the end. They have Some Magnificent wines on the menu.

When I arrived to Le Case della Saracca, my breath was taken away by the amazing historic building in a small fairy-tale-like village surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Langhe, Piedmont. Take a look at my attached photos and you will understand! A unique address where six medieval houses have been transformed into a labyrinth of grottoes, suspended glass walkways, swirling metallic staircases and bedrooms with floating bed or bathroom carved out of the rock. Mr. Giulio – the owner and perfect host - has created something exceptional from a 900 year old structure high up in Monforte. All 6 rooms are unique, with a combination of ancient walls, glass floors, modern fittings, basins fashioned from tree trunks, all done with style and flair. Downstairs, there is a bar and restaurant that is clearly popular with people in town, for good reason! The food put a novel twist on traditional Piedmonts food and was delicious. The waiter managed to match a wine perfectly to each course! Before dinner Mr. Guilio invited me to a tour of his awesome, high tech wine cellar I the cave! My room (Dormouse -Camera Ghiro) was comfortable and beautifully decorated with a balcony. The minibar is stocked full of non-alcoholic drinks and some chocolates and biscuits, all free of charge! The breakfast was perfect with coffee, juice, bread, cheese and charcuterie overlooking wine yards from the small balcony This is a unique place with a relaxed atmosphere, producing a magical ambience. Thanks to Mr. Guilio for one of the most memorable stay I have ever had! I hope to be back again soon! Highly recommended! Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.

Giulio was exceptionally helpful in arranging winery visits and dinner reservations. Room was spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning and a mini fridge. The area is beautiful. One note on parking: google maps sends you up a restricted pedestrian road. If you navigate to “giant purple bench Monforte d’alba” you will find a very convenient parking street near the rooms.

What a great place. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. There was a selection of antipasti to choose from on the bar and then we were asked to choose where we’d like to sit in this maze of a building. The food then was superb and definitely worth another visit. What a great find!!

We stayed here in August - a quiet time in this beautiful part of Piedmont- and this place was a treat. Giulio, the owner, has created this B&B, bar and restaurant by knocking together several medieval houses, making an eclectic mix of old and new architecture including a honeymoon room with a bed suspended from the sealing and a glass-clad shower built into the racks that lie behind. Inspirational, and the village is a lovely to explore. Good food and unique accommodation for those who appreciate being off the beaten track.

We stayed for 3 nights and dined at the restaurant twice. As other reviews have stated, the hotel has an amazing atmosphere - a really innovative and tasteful redesign of a medieval structure. We stayed in Camiot which was a spacious room on two levels with great views from the terrace. The restaurant continues this theme and the food is high quality with a fabulous wine list. The antipasto on offer at the lively bar with pre-dinner drinks is extensive to say the least. The hotel is well-situated in the old part of the village and parking is easily accessed nearby. Monforte d'Alba Is also a great base from which to visit the entire Langhe region. But the best part of our stay was having such a welcoming host, Giulio. He has extensive knowledge of the region and gave us great tips on places to visit. Thank you, Giulio - we hope to back sometime!

After walking 16km along the Bar to Bar trail from Verduno, we traipsed into the main piazza of Monforte, contemplating the steep climb to our accommodation for the night. A man approached us and turned out to be Giulio, the proprietor of Le Case della Saracca, who gave us a lift up the hill, and set the tone for a wonderful experience. Giulio has created something exceptional from an 800 year old structure high up in Monforte. The rooms are unique , with a combination of ancient walls, glass floors, modern fittings, basins fashioned from tree trunks, all done with style and flair. There is ample room, the bed is comfortable and everything works. Downstairs, there is a bar, enoteca and restaurant that is clearly popular with people in town, for good reason. The food put a novel twist on traditional Piedmontese food and was delicious. The staff managed to match a wine perfectly to each course. We had a great evening. This is a unique place and one for which I will always have happy memories. Giulio is the personification of the perfect host.
